My family sails out on Sunday on the Westerdam....we are BIG UNC Tarheel fans..hoping we make it to the championship game this year. Game is Monday night, 4/6. Will there be coverage of the game onboard?? This is our first HAL cruise.

At sea you are at the mercy of the satilite coverage that the ship can pick up. CNN International is the normal feed, with lots of soccer. On major sporting events HAL does try to get a satilite feed and I'm sure that the Final Four would fit that list.

I've watched the World Series, Super Bowls and other major events on the ships and they try to do a good job in their presentation. The Westerdam has a sports bar and they should have coverage. ----- have a great cruise.

My guess is that it will be televised. They tended to have whatever was on ESPN, which would probably have the final four games, unless there is some other bigger game going on.

I am still not over UCLA going out first round, so I would avoid the NCAA coverage. I am rooting for Villenova, so I can at least tell myself that my boys lost to the best team, so maybe they could have been #2.

GO HEELS!! We live 30 minutes from Chapel Hill and have several alumni in the family. Not sure I could get DH on the ship without promise of coverage. I think the odds are pretty good that you will be able to see it. How cool it would be to watch in the Sports Bar. Have a great cruise and hopefully we will be still celebrating the victory when you get home.:D

Final Four is on CBS, so HAL will have to buy the feed from them if they are going to televise it. They do this for the Superbowl, so I think there is a good chance they will have the final 4 (even if Duke is not in it :().

Ah, Franklin Street. Too bad I learned my lesson celebrating the '05 championship there. I would rather celebrate on a ship!

My son is a Villanova alum, so yes, your boys did lose to the best team!

GO NOVA!!!

We were on the Westerdam two weeks ago. A lot of the early round games were on TV. Unfortunately, the Carolina game against LSU wasn't included. But I'm thinking they'll get the championship game. And hopefully our Heels will win it again. I was in school at UNC for the '82 championship.
