Thanks for all the welcoming messages. Toad got us into this and may have to get us out of it too. We are going to be on the Rotterdam in February going to Panama Canal. First cruise South. First cruise on a big ship. First cruise with Toads. Who knows what will happen!

Frog, I consider the Rotterdam a big ship, but by today's standards it isn't. You will find it easy to learn your way around and fairly easy to get where you want to go quickly.
The big advantage is once you've learned your way around this ship you will also know the layout of all the S-class (4 ships), the Amsterdam (sister), Volendam and Zaandam.
I've sailed 77 days on three cruises in the last three years on this ship. Hope you like her as well as I apparently do.
Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. (And to the CC boards!)

Frog, Welcome aboard this group of addicted cruisers. Doing the Panama Canal is one of my Dream cruises, how fortuate to be able to do it. I am sure you will love the Rotterdam and your cruise next February. The time to cruise will be here before you know it. In the mean time you can enjoy stopping by here to learn lots of things about HAL.
