We called and reserved the first night on our recent Prinsendam cruise. It was great. We stopped by our regular table first to meet our tablemates (and let the wait staff know not to expect us) then went to dinner in the Pinnacle Grill. It is worth $20 IMO for the experience, food, and service ... but is a genuine bargain at $10 that first evening.

We also booked for the first night and then an additional night before our cruise in Dec. If we do not use the reservation they will refund the money to our credit card. They charge in full when you book.

Thanks for the info concerning the Pinnacle Room. Another question. Do you have to pay for the food you order? Also has anybody heard anything about the ship since it left Europe?

Ruthie G--
Dinners in the Pinnacle are 'prix-fixe' The only dinner that costs more than the $20/pp is the $45/pp Wine Tasting Dinner menu offered on Fri nites. The only other additional charges are for your wine or cocktails.
If you pre-book anything by phone (including Pinnacle reservations) your credit card will be charged at that time for the entire cost of that item.
If you board and do not see the card confirming your Pinnacle reservation in your stateroom, you can always wander down to the Pinnacle Grill and confirm with the Maitre'd who will write you in - sometimes it takes a bit for the pre-pays to catch up w/ the shipboard accounts, but it will be made OK.
Enjoy!

Thanks Brian. I sent a reply to your answer but my computer went goofy so I wasn't sure it went through, so I'll send it again. Have you heard anything about the Westerdam since its cruises to Europe? I have read some reviews, some were very good but others were bad. I guess it takes alot to please some people. This is our second cruise, the first was the Enchantment, Western Carribean 2002, we really liked it. We seem to always travel around our anniversary, which will be doing this year also. It will be our 38th!!!!
I DO KNOW WHERE MY BARTENDER IS!!!!!

How far ahead of the cruise should you reserve for dinner on the first night? Our anniversary will be that first night onboard Oosterdam, our first cruise on HA. Any opinion as to whether this would be a good choice as opposed to the main dining room? Thanks for your thoughts!
