Hi,
I hope I can get some help. My husband and I will be going on the Noordam for our 40th wedding anniversary. We would like a very nice table for two. I was told if I knew the table number I had a better chance of getting a table for two. Does any one remember their favorite table for two in the upper dining room? I think one that overlooks the lower dining room would be nice.
Thanks in advance!

I don't recall the exact table numbers (I'll try to hunt them down), but there's one thing I can tell you: there are a few 2-seaters right by the steward's stations that are very busy. They were close to the front of the dining room entrance, and it wasn't pleasant to sit there because there was so much hustle-and-bustle.
Having said that, the other tables we sat at were most pleasant. But we made sure we specifically requested that we not be at those other tables from that night onward.

Thank you for that tip. I will be sure to mention that. Hope you find the table number!

Have you asked your TA for a map of the dining room with the table numbers? Our TA was able to do that a few years ago on another ship.

This past February on the Noordam we requested a table for 2. Checking the dining room diagram we were assigned to a table for 4. To our surprise when we arrived for dinner the table was set for 2. It was table #24. In the back of the dining room by the window. We had main dining.

I noticed that you are talking about the Noordam.
But you "Clock" has you listed as being on the Eurodam.
No Matter -- the dining room tables are just about the same.
Noordam -- Eurodam -- table #84 is by the rail and overlooks the front part of the lower level of the dining room -- we were not disturbed by the service area -- have sat there on serval Vista class cruises.
Table #88 is also by the rail -- it has some view to the lower level of the dining room -- sat there once.

That's strange. What I am seeing is the Noordam 2/13/2010.
We needed to cancel Euordam and I did change the countdown.
Thanks for the number! It sounds perfect.
Being married on Valentine's Day we share our anniversary with others in crowded restaurants with rushed service. For our 40th we want a nice quiet table for two.

That's the truth! What would we do without CC? My hubby is amazed at the information that I find here. :)
Have a fun cruise. :)

It is a 4 top but we had it for 2 so we had a lot of extra room. The stewards were terrific and they remembered our likes, brought us special deserts and were extremely attentive.

We've have had both #77 and #90. Both are excellent locations and highly recommended.

Had table #79 on OOSTERDAM which I believe uses the same floor chart.
This is what you describe - overlooking the lower level next to the rail.

We had #79 on the Noordam for the second part of our b2b in February. Great loation. Actually I think any of the two tops are A-OK.

We had a table for two on two separate occasions on the msNOORDAM that we really enjoyed. One was 318 and the other one that we especially liked was 315. They are located in a little circle in the middle of the dining room on the upper deck in which you go down a couple of steps to enter. You can see down to the level below from here. There are 5 of these tables for two in this location.

On the Noordam, is the upper level for fixed dining and the lower lever for open seating? This will help in knowing which floor plan to look at. If we have open seating, can we call in the morning to request a table/time for dinner like we did on the Volendam last summer ?

Yes -- the upper level is for fixed dining and the lower level is for AYWD.
Yes you can call from 8 AM until 4 PM to request dining time and table size for dinner between 5:15 and 6:15 and 7:30 - 9 PM. There are no reservations allowed between 6:15 and 7:30. And you can make reservations for 2 days at a time.
On the port side as you enter the Lido from midships, there is also a reservation desk there where you can stop and make your reservations.

I noticed that this winter, KK. Don't recall seeing that on previous cruises.
