Do have to have sailed on a prior Disney Cruise to join the Castaway Club?
What special perks if any do you get with this?
Thanks for the info.

You need to have sailed with DCL once to be in the CC. You are automatically enrolled and it's free.
There's a separate line for CC members at the port check-in. However, they don't verify you're a CC member, so the line might be just as long as the other.
In our cabin, we received DCL pins, a blanket, and an invitation to the officers' cocktail party.

When you say membership is automatic, you mean you don't have to sign up? They just send you the member cards and info after you cruise? Just wondered as our 1st disney cruise is next sept. We're C&A members w/RC, but had to sign up. We've sailed Carnival too years ago, but never signed up, so I'm guessing I'm nothing there at this point.

That's correct. You will receive the info in the mail. They send you a card with the number on it about 6 weeks after you sail. Even if you don't have your number if/when you rebook they will look it up for you.

Agree with all of the above, except that the cards are not automatically sent. I've taken 5 DCL cruises, and have never been sent a card. I did call DCL and they gave me the number--never had to show the card thank goodness.

Does the Castaway Club provide you with any discounts on future cruises? Do you have to book while on board to get these discounts? Do you have to book directly with Disney to get any discounts? Can you get them on-line or do you have to call to book it?

It does not give you any discounts, you automatically are entitled to sign up after your first cruise, we received pins, a beach blanket and invitation to a party all on our second cruise.

Although Castaway Club does not offer you booking discounts, you can book another cruise onboard and receive 10% off and depending on the length of the cruise, a $200.00 (7 night) stateroom credit (less for shorter cruises). People have indicated you can then transfer the reservation to a different TA to get what ever perks they are offering as well and keep the rate and onboard credit.

Thanks for this info. Do you know what the stateroom credit is for 3 and 4 night cruises?
