Table #122 and 127 (far corners of lower dining room) lovely and quiet,we loved these locations.
Table #109 (waterview) quite nice as well. Try and book your reservations for two days in a row,if possible .
Have a wonderful cruise:)

We sat at 109 and 111 for lunch a couple of times -- one can see out the window -- the other person looks into the dining room.

127 is in the corner and you can talk privately. It is also near the window.

I'm certain this is an absolutely silly question but I've been told numerous times that the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. I've given a bit of background but went ahead and italicized the actual questions so folks can avoid my wordiness.
My DH and I will be in anytime dining but I prefer window seats. (I have this love of the ocean that is unexplainable, considering I was born and raised in the landlocked states and didn't even see the ocean until I was around 20.) We don't mind sitting with others and often enjoy the company and conversation.
Could we make reservations for certain tables under the assumption that others would be assigned to sit with us at the stand? I was thinking of a 4 or 6 top. (We found the 8 top tables difficult on our first cruise or maybe we just found a couple of our tablemates difficult. For some odd reason, I think having fewer tablemates will make it more manageable.)
Also, is there a way to visit the dining room prior to dining times to pick out ideal table locations? While the floorplan posted is nice (thanks!), I'm having a difficult time deciphering where the windows sit in relation to the tables. (On our previous cruise, the dining room doors were shut and locked at all non-meal times.)
Thanks for any advice you might offer!

We did just that our first "walk about " embarkation day.
Dining room was open,we did our own mini tour ( staff just smiled and nodded at us no questions asked:))
We made note of the table # 's we liked and were quickly on our way.
Have a wonderful cruise.

It's fairly simple: the windows are along the sides and across the aft of the dining room. EM

We were on Eurodam last december and since we had a group of nine people, we asked for early sitting in the "fixed seating restaurant". Well, they assigned six at one table and theee at another table, which was UNACCEPTABLE. I got hold of an assistant maitre d' and he advised us to go down one deck to the "Anytime dining" restaurant and see some guy down there and he would arrange everything for us. Well, what they did was assign us to a large table for 10 and we had that table ready for us every evening at 6PM, with the same waiter and assistant for the entire cruise. Couldn't ask for anything better than that.

Heh, I probably should've clarified what I meant. I definitely deserved this comical reply after rereading. It made me giggle at myself.
From looking at the room diagram, it would appear that the walls aren't solid windows just based on some of the architectural details. It seemed as if they jutted out/in slightly with some wall space in between. Is the dining room completely glassed in, then? Or am I mistakenly seeing places where there's solid wall?

Excellent! I was hoping this might be the case so I'll just look forward to picking out some tables for reservations on that first day. I assume we'd need to do this prior to muster since the dining room swings into service around 5?

I can't speak specifically for Eurodam, but have just been on Oosterdam, also Vista class...We had a table for six against the aft windows on Vista 3, the end of the table against the window. View was of the Promenade deck and beyond that, the wake. Second leg of the cruise we had a table for 8 along the starboard side. The ends of the tables were between the windows, so that the people on either side of the table could turn their heads and see out. EM

There should be a table set up right outside the lower level of the dining room on embarkation day where you can make your reservation.
There is also a desk set up in the Lido everyday where you can make reservations.
AYWD begins at 5:15.
