I just got an reply to my email to HAL concerning our itinerary change for the New Year's cruise.

They have reverted back to the original itinerary which was Cozumel, Grand cayman, Santo Domingo, Saint Thomas, Saint Martin, Tortola, and HMC.
They had done a major revision of this trip, if you remember some of my recent posts, and now it's back to the trip we booked! Hallelujah!

Thank you HAL!

That's wonderful news, GN. I'm very happy for you.

And.......I find it really great that apparently the e-mails/phone calls from pax and the conversations on this and other Boards were noticed and considered by HAL. They were reasonable and responsive to passengers wishes and it seems they 'went to work' trying to put back in place the itinerary that folks had booked. We all know they did not have to do anything about it. They could have simply said....this is what it is going to be and left it at that. It had to have taken more than a little work to 'make it happen.' Kudos to HAL.

My guess is that these storm-damaged ports were restored more quickly than they thought they would be ... so this allowed reverting to the original plan.

Wondreing if all itineraries diverted from Grand Caymons have been reinstated?

I just received a newsletter from Vacations to Go that noted that the Grand Cayman Port Authority is reopening. They'll start with a max of 2 ships per day for a couple of weeks, then increase from there. The coral reef and Stingray City suffered no ill effects, and Seven Mile Beach actually received some additional sand! There might be a question as to what shore excursions will be available early on ... but the port call itself seems to be a go.

I checked "Destinations" for the itinerary and then went to "for booked guests" and found that the information coincided for the return to the original itinerary. We never heard anything through our TA so i guess no communication went through his office at all.

What we love about reverting back to the original itinerary is not only do we get St. Maarten back, we will be at our favorite island for an additional four hours! We will have plenty of time for shopping on both the Dutch and French sides for two of our Grand Daughter's fourteenth birthdays and have time to got to the beach! http://ourworld.cs.com/KsmithCCI/thumbsup.gifhttp://ourworld.cs.com/KsmithCCI/thumbsup.gif

PER HAL: Port of Call to Grand Caymen IS SCHEDULED, but subject to change until time of sailing......

grannynurse, that's wonderful news for you. I'm thrilled for you.

Does this mean that you won't have that extended visit to Cozumel on New Year's Eve? That it's now all set to get dressed to kill? Hooray! if it is.

We're thrilled too to be back on our originally booked itinerary. Regardless of how or why it was changed and reinstated, this is really good news. And, yes, RuthC, this means we'll be dressed to the nines to usher in 2005!!!
