There are presumably many people here who have been on long (multi-month) cruises (even if not round-the-world.)
I wonder what their experience has been with mail forwarding to RSSC agents at various ports (as listed in the cruise documents).
It would be nice to receive favorite magazines forwarded (FedExed) from home, the occasional letter, even the odd bill or summons to jury duty.
On the other hand, it would be unfortunate if the FedEx never properly arrived, was not efficiently delivered to the ship, etc.
Would anyone care to share experiences in this area?
Thanks.

On our 2007 World Cruise we did not attempt to have anything mailed from home.
First of all, you would have to have someone sort and select for you what to send. Plus would have been a verypricey extra expensive that could be easily avoided.
If one is internet savvy, it is easy to use on-line banking to pay bills or have bills paid by credit card debits (with the credit card then automatically paid from one's bank account). The only bill we had to worry about was our property tax. But with the proper authenication with us (a 17-digit PIN) we were able to go onto the county's web site, see the amount of the bill and pay it electronically. As for periodicals, we just put them on hold, which added four months to our subscriptions.
Since we were previous cruisers, with e-mail via free WiFi from our room and some free telelphone time, we didn't feel out of touch at all.

We have done a few months-long cruises and we have never had any mail forwarded to us on the ship either. As you stated to start it just seemed too risky and problematic, but in the end we have found it unnecessary. I do seem to recall one couple we met on our WC that was trying to handle a real estate closing or something legal like that from onboard and they were pulling their hair out about it with things following them from port to port before getting it.
