Bar Barbor Maine - Bird Watching

Our cruise will visit Bar Harbor on May 29, 2009. Are there any good areas to observe and photograph birds? Do I need to take a tour or can I do it on my own? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try this link http://www.downeastnaturetours.com/ (I don't know much about them). I am not a bird watcher, but we always see birds when we are in that area. Jan
