Thank you so much for your great pictures and account of your cruise. We are doing the reverse in Jan on the big "O". Our only stop on the Caribbean side will be Cartagena, and this is after two sea days. Normally I'd just want to walk town or find a beach, but your experiences warned me away from that idea!!! I e-mailed HAL about the possability of doing the Rosario islands ship tour and skipping the dolphin show part of it, but they said I have to clear that idea with the tour opperator. Did you meet anyone who did either the Rosario island tour or go to a beach? Is there a coffee buying oppuntunity close and safe to the ship? Thanks again for all of the great insite and info that you share with us all.

I do not know anyone who went on the Rosario Island tour ... as for beaches, I don't think that there's any really close. Cartagena is very much an industrial port.

As for a coffee buying opportunity ... you can walk to the cruise-terminal and buy coffee there. It's a nice walk along the pier, you always within the tight security of the port, and safe.

Thank you so much. I'll wait until I'm on the ship to check out the island tour and buy coffee in the terminal.
