How long does it take to get from the airport to the ship in FLL? Any idea how much a taxi will cost?
Thanks,
'til we sail on Rotterdam,

Its very close, just a couple of miles. I believe it should cost you about $10ish dollars plus tip.

Thanks, Doone, for the quick answer. I know in San Diego, we could see the airport from the deck of the ship.
On the map of FLL, it looks like the airport and the cruise terminal are just as close as in San Diego.

It's a piece of cake in FLL getting between the port and airport. You will find plenty of taxis outside at either place. Much better, IMO, than the ship's transfers.

Hi, sorry to butt in on this thread but seeing someone asked...We are booked for cruise and air thru our TA. I was told we should report to Holland America booth, (kiosk)? at the airport right by the baggage area and then we get on shuttle bus over to the docks...anyone know about this??

Whiskeyman, did you buy your airline tickets through the cruise line? If so, then transportation to the pier is provided through HAL.

You can purchase transportation from the airport to the pier through HAL, even if you purchase your own airfare. I would venture to say that's probably what your TA did if you didn't purchase cruise line air.

There is no booth/kiosk - however, the HAL rep will be standing at the bottom of the escalator in the baggage claim area.

If your TA did not book your flight with HAL, but did it separately, then you will not find a transfer voucher in with your docs, unless as Doone said your TA booked the transer separately. Check with your TA.

Last Feb we booked air with HAL and a HAL rep was waiting in our baggage claim area with our names on a card. The year before we booked air separate and found a cab for $12. We like the cab better because we had to wait for several flights before we were taken to the ship with HAL.

Agree.

Do check with your TA, since it appears the decision has already been made.

For what it's worth, FLL is one of those ports where a cab works better for us.

Enjoy!

I did book air and cruise and transfers but for 12 bucks I might be better off taking a cab (no waiting for others) We'll see how it goes for all I know We'll be the last one there and everyone will be waiting on us :D
Thanks to all ~~
