What improvements do you think could be made to the Bahamas Celebration? I think Celebration should do what RCCL did to theViking Serenade. The Viking Serenade was also a former ferry. They should take the car decks and make them into cabins. Take off the car deck doors and rebuild her into a more seamless vessle.

Hello i think thats a great idea im sure they thought of it too i just dont think financially the company has enough money to do such a drastic change, but from what i have seen i think they did a pretty nice job with the ship its alot larger then regal empress and i think a step up from there old ship.

They can't seem to handle the capacity as it is. How would they handle another few hundred passengers?

I would convert the car deck to cabins (large enough to be similar in size to the newbuilds today.) I would then start combining adjacient cabins on upper decks to create larger ones (nothing too fancy. Take 2 adjacient rooms with the long common wall, put a doorway between them. Make one room the bedroom: seal the door to the hall and put a desk in front of it, change the bathroom into a closet, squeeze in the biggest bed you can. In the "living room" leave the door to the hallway and the bath, take out the bed and put in a single convertable sofa with a bunk above. Voila, a minisuite!) I would add balconies to all outside cabins without lifeboats above them (As RCCL, Costa, Celebrity, Carnival and Island Cruises have done to some of their ships. Would have to be the doubled up mini-suites described above.) I would up the cabin count slightly but not as much as if you just added cabins to the car deck.

The area over the buffet on the upper deck would be decked and wind screens installed to add much needed sunning areas. I'd flip the location of the gym/spa and make that a bar and move the spa to where the oceanbreeze bar is now. I'd make sure the new spa got saunas and streamrooms. The deck outside the new spa would get a hot tub and loungers and become an adults only area (I'm sure it's underused now.)

Seems like a lot but frankly it's what other lines have done to their ships. Adding the balconies would pay for themselves (look at what Carnival did to the Sensation) moving the bar to spa location makes it a "lobby bar" and puts it in a place where people can find it, spas make money so having a better one makes sense (and people will seek out the spa, I hear the Oceanbreeze goes unused) Converting the car deck to cabins should be doable, there are already stairs and elevators serving that deck and with all the headroom running ductwork and such would be easier (and what's easier than loading pre-assembled cabins onto a car deck with huge opening doors in the front)
