Just booked and we're so excited. This is is our first time cruising HAL and heard good things. Booked 6:15 seating, but hope it's not too early. Any advice on which night is best to eat at Pinnacle?

If you want to save a few bucks the Pinnacle is half price on the first night.
You can make reservations through Ship Services in advance.
Welcome to HAL. Hope you enjoy the cruise.

Ruthie baby...
How is it for a single? I eat breakfast alone, but that's by common consent (I look like the Flying Dutchman after a bad night cursing the Devil). What's it like when you are Pinnacling solo?

"Ruthie"??? I don't THINK so!!!
tom, I've eaten in the Pinnacle only once---and that was with others. I shared a dining room table with longtimecruiser and her mom this summer. Her mother graciously included me in a special ocassion there. (Thanks, Evelyn).
Now, if we ever again find ourselves on the same ship at the same time....

Tom, back when I had a real job...not just consulting and teaching...I used to travel solo throughout the world. I could eat anywhere I wanted. I quickly discovered that a single rates the table next to the kitchen door if not out by the garbage can. I adopted the policy of entertaining just so I could enjoy my meal.
I suspect the Pennical will be the same.
Fine dining, unfortunately, is not a singles sport. The only solution is to find someone to dine with, even if you have to pick up the check.
Ruth--for whatever it's worth, my first wife was named Ruth. To call her Ruthie was sudden death, just as to call me Lewie brought forth snarles.

I did a lot of solo traveling for business at one time and found this to be the case in a number of places. Along with the bad tables the waiters act like you don't exist. One place that sticks in my mind was Ruth Chris Steak House in Mobile.
