The current deck plans state "as of Feb 2010".....with the new stern pool area configuration.
This means an overhaul at some point....does anyone know when this is scheduled for? As I am booked on the Oct 18 sailing....wondering what condition she will be in.
Thanks
Tom

Back in November, HAL announced the updates for 5 ships ... at that time, the Ryndam was scheduled for drydock mid-January thru mid-February 2010. I don't know if that timeline has been adjusted since then.

I hope Ryndam is in good repair.....I have sailed some ships right before a major refit and it seemed as if upkeep suffered figuring things were goingto get ripped apart anyway.
My fav HAL ship to date was Veendam....hoping Ryndam is as good as it is the same class of ship.

The Ryndam deck plans I downloaded from the Holland America website this last February stated dates of January 17 through February 21 2010 for the 'Out of service' Dry Dock dates.
*Just checked their website* these dates are still showing valid on deck plan dropdown.

At the Cruise Critic Meet&Greet on the Ryndam during the April 14th Sea of Cortez cruise, the Hotel Manager said that he had just been advised that the ship would be operational on January 20th....he had only been notified of the change that morning....not even the Captain, who was with him at the gathering, knew of the change.
They obviously didn't give any details...I think because they didn't even have them...so you may want to check in person with someone oin Seattle to confirm if the refit is still goling ahead as scheduled.

I surely hate to lose that back pool - it was a gem.

Apparantly, it will become an 18" deep "wading" pool, which probably few people will use!

Makes me wonder if this for more family activity...little children. With this kids zone a few decks above....maybe its all becoming youth/ children oriented. I would have hoped for an adult only area. The pool under the magrodome becomes noisy with kids yelling Marco Polo. I think its great to have kids aboard a ship.......but maybe an adults only space would be nice....even Disney ships provide that.
Well at least the pool will still be in place during my Oct cruise:o
