Kill them. Kill them all. Pirates, whether sailing the Black Pearl or the Somalia Zodiak, give no quarter - and should expect none either. Stick to the code lads!

Why are pirates so vicious?

They just arrrrrrr! :)

We sailed on MSC at Christmas. I can see why the passengers at the drinks party hurled sun loungers at the pirates. Their drinks were far too expensive to throw around.;)

So you're in favor of the arming of cruise ships, Cruisebug?

The days when people act like sheep when a vessel is hijacked are over, thankfully. I'd have been right out there throwing deck chairs myself. If the bar was serving drinks in coconut shells, I'd have bought two for their purely aerodynamic qualities.

Congratulations to Capt. Pinto and the security staff! I would like to believe that more ships will be trained and armed in the same way from now on.

I was on the MSC Orchestra on Wednesday 5/6 for a luncheon where Rick Sasso spoke of the pirate incident. He described the occurrences and how the guests were throwing the chairs overboard. It got a laugh and when he was finished, he and his staff got a big round of applause. I think we are all sick of the bullies in the world and it's definetly time we stand up to them! Arrrgh...

I think by now everyone knows the passengers stopped the pirates hijacking the msc melody that night.. After denying for two years that anyone was injured during the shooting msc have settled out of court with a passenger who received two bullet wounds to his leg, and was flown home to england from jordan, for hospital treatment.msc are reported in the press to have said they were not legally responsible for the incident, because no other passenger vessel has been attacked before. It is common knowledge four other cruise vessels have been attacked, one of them actually hijacked.
