We are going on the Zui Eastern Cruise and were wondering if there is ever any problem with having American dollars? Should we exchange here or there? Also, a totally different topic: What do most cruisers do with their stuff when they are in the water at the beaches? Specifically, Trunk Bay and the Baths? Thanks for your responses.

Some of the beaches have lockers that you can rent (if I remember correctly, Trunk Bay) - haven't been to the Baths but if you check under Ports (Caribbean-Other), you may find the answer. We have never had a problem with items going "missing" while we were in the water but better to be safe I guess. ;)

American $'s are accepted all over the Caribbean. No need to exchange any money.Except for the French side of St Martin. Then Euros are required except at jewelry stores [the same as in the other French overseas departments not visited by HAL in the Caribbean].

If you are concerned about valuables while you are in the water, go to a luggage store and get a small money holder to put around your neck or a money belt to wear with your bathing suit or a bathing suit with a secure pocket. Don't take more than you absolutely need to the beach. Leave the rest in the safe on the ship.
