Hey, Marcus,
Joining you on the Westerdam tomorrow; this may be fleet wide, because we had it on the Ryndam a few months ago. There, it was in the Ocean Bar from 4:30 to 5:30. It applied to my dh's scotch and my wine, and, as I recall, to all drinks (except for the drink card).
Cheers!

Happy Hour indeed is held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. every day. It will be held in the (Non-Smoking) Ocean Bar and in the Crow's Nest, (which is Non-Smoking on the Port Side)!

We experienced it on the last three HAL ships last summer thru Feb this year .. and if you get a call brand as DW and I do for martinis, it really makes it a great deal.

Am I correct in that happy hour drinks are 2 for 1? If hubby and I want two different types of drinks, is it terribly uncouth to each order 2 of our preference?:o

I always ordered two. The 2-fers have to be two of the same drink, which means that if you're a solo ... or the person you are with does not like the same thing as you do, it won't work. So, I simply ordered two of my favorite and they ordered two of theirs. That's why they call it "happy" hour. :)

Don't they also have hors d'oeuvres at happy hour? (Something to absorb those happy 2-fers!) :p

What hors d'oeuvres have you had on the Amsterdam and which bars are they in?

Thanks!

Every lounge with pre-dinner cocktail service also serves hors d'oeuvres. :D <hic>

During Happy Hour as well?
Yes. It might take a little while for the yummies to come out, as they're pushing the booze first. But be patient.

We loved "happy hour" on our Ryndam cruise in Jan. I think we maybe made them all, all 30 of them! DH said it was almost the best part of the cruise!

Actually, the Ocean Bar is fully non-smoking on all Vista Class ships, and Eurodam and has been for several months.

Now if HAL would only fully enclose the (Smoking) Casinos on all their ships!

Perhaps the simpler solution would be to fully enclose Geriatric Nurse :-) Tee hee :D

You may need a few friends to help you pick up the ship, it is quite heavy;):D:cool:
