Has any one heard more about these exciting cruises?

From the net.......

"Holland America Line will position the Statendam in Australia at the end of 2005 for a series of six 14-day cruises between Australia and New Zealand."

"Holland America Line are bringing the Statendam to Sydney. She will be sailing from San Diego 17 November 2005 and arrive into Sydney 05 January 2006 cruising via Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Easter Island, Tahiti, Tonga and New Zealand. She will then commence a series of Sydney to New Zealand and return cruises."

"Carrying more than 1,200 passengers, the Statendam will make six cruises visiting Australian and New Zealand ports, with itineraries expected to be released December 2."

It was first reported about 27 October, but I suspect that HAL isn't making a big public fuss about it at the moment because the itineraries aren't yet finalised.

Well it looks like they have really listened to the response from their survey that they e-mailed out last June titled "Far East Itinerary Survey". We gave it a definite thumbs up. Now the only question is when and how much...and of course can we afford it?

HAL is trying to get me to do another cruise. I have promised my wife that we would do our 25th anniversary in Australia. We did New Zealand and Tahiti in 2003 and loved New Zealand, and we want to go back. This looks like a perfect way to do it. We could do a pre and post in both countries, sweet! I think Princess is doing this basic itinerary as well! I can't wait.
