just got off the Zuiderdam at 9:20 in vancouver and the trip was great. The weather was awsome,stayed in shorts for the days and dressed up at nite. glacier bay has to be seen to believe.hunky dory and oki doki say hi.

Glad you had a great time. We're on the same route in July. Can you tell me what nights were formal. There was a thread, but I can't find it now. Any tips would be great as well. We just got our documents via priority mail and the excitement is now in full swing.

2nd nite and 5th where formal nights.happy hour in the oceans bar between 4 & 5 pm half price drinks and appys.don't miss the stirfry bar at
lunch.

Glad you had a good time! I'll be boarding her in 1 week. :D Please tell us more! Did they serve the Salmon 50 Ways and what did you think of it? Any helpful hints you can pass on would be much appreciated.

there was lots of calving at the 1st glacier they took us to and it is alot louder than you think when they break off. there was lots of salmon to be had with the salmon 50 ways.including a bar-b-que at lunch on the back pool deck.if you like popcorn it is always available in the screening room.
we felt that the shopping deals were better in skagway than ketchican,but this could depend on what you wanted to buy.

I'm about to book a trip on this ship I believe for August. How are the rooms? We're going to get a balcony room. Also, did the ship leave from Canadian Place or Ballantyne Pier? What kind of activities were on board during the day? Thanks!

Oh and what is salmon 50 ways? I don't think we had that on the Ryndam two years ago.

How close was the captain able to get the ship to the glaciers?
I am glad to hear there was calving happening.
How about whales? Did you see many or take a whale watch tour?
We are going to be taking a tour with Harv & Marv in Juneau and were wondering if the watching was good?
We will be on the "Z" on July 4-11 and can't wait. Sounds like you had great weather on your trip. Hopefully ours will be the same.
