Hi,
We are new to Disney cruiseline and have a few questions. We are currently booked on August 25th 3 day sailing of Wonder in cabin 5020 which is a secret porthole. Were are a family of 4 with 2 children 5 and 9 at time of sailing. We can change to a cat 12 guarantee on 28th 4 day sailing for only $89.58 more total. Would you pay the extra, go down the category but get an extra day or no?
Also we have been looking into some timeshares and this year we decided to use our prestay time to tour Ron Jon resort near port. We have a 3 night stay in 1 bedroom villa for $171 total. Is this a nice place and a good price? We do have to do the 90 minute timeshare presentation which we dont mind since we have done Hilton's and are interested in possible purchase.
Thanks

if it were me, I would go with the Cat 12 guarantee --1 extra day at sea for less than $90, plus, it gives you the chance at a Palo brunch which is wonderful. I've stayed in a Cat11, and a Cat 6, and 7. The Cat 11 was fine--with kids at those ages, I'll bet you really won't spend that much time in the cabin anyway. There is also the possibility of an upgrade too. The room you are in does offer a great view though. I would still go with the extra day.
I can't help with RonJon.

Looks like you got a better price then we did.
We paid $75/night for a 1 bedroom.
Did you get a $50.00 gift certificate for food and a free 7 day resort vacation certificate as well.
We travelled through Port Canaveral last March and drove by Ron Jon's.
It looks very very nice and looks brand new.
We were told that it has a lazy river, water slides and a kids club with a theatre.
I'm looking forward to it, I hope that it will not be a high pressure sale presentation.
We are going Dec/2004.

I have a SPR for our 4 day cruise next sept. I like 4 days over 3, but I'm not so sure I'd give up my SPR for an extra day. It depends what your wants/needs are. We're used to balcony cabins on other lines, but since Disney is more expensive and we're bringing kids, we opted for the SPR to get light. I don't know if I could go to no light at all. But, if I did, I'd try to get one of those cabins on aft deck 7 to be near the secret deck so I could get outside lickety split if I need some fresh air!
As for ron jon's I'd highly recommend you read the rvws on tripadvisor.com.

Hi,
I dont have any other incentives other than low room price. Comes out to be about $57 per night. So with your freebies we are very close in price. Im hesitant about giving up SPR but it seeems like a good idea to since cost difference is soo little to obtain extra day. Good thing is we will be booked in cat 12 guarantee so will have a chance for upgrade especially since we are party of 4 booked in cat 12.

We stayed at Ron Jon's and liked it very much. MUCH better than the Radisson.
