Could I get a practical clarification on what really IS okay for HAL in the dining room, please. Last year we cruised to AK and only went to the dining room twice. This year we plan to travel lighter and hubbie does not want to bring a suit.

For Non-formal nights, does he have to wear a jacket in the dining room? Are (clean) sneakers okay with chino pants? Are jeans really forbidden? Our TA asked and got a pretty strick list of what is not acceptable (including jeans, sneakers, etc.) but we saw several people so-attired walking around the ship. As we only went to the dining room on the formal night and one other, we did not really see what people were admitted in. What is the dress code for the Pinnacle Grill?

We are planning "preppie" clothes for the ship. Basically what we would wear to work as professionals in an informal office.

Thanks in advance-

The dress code in the Pinnacle is the same as the rest of the ship. On Smart Casual nights most people will tip toward the dressier end of that scale if dining in the Pinnacle.

That sounds like it meets the code for Smart Casual, without actually seeing pictures. Men do not need a jacket. Dockers and a collared shirt are fine. Jeans are not prohibited, and footwear is not mentioned in the dress code.
