Hope someone can answer this question. I seem to recall reading on the board that the A/C in the Dining Room was spotty. Has anyone had a table in the forward section (smaller area) on the Prinsendam? It appears to have a low ceiling and thought that the A/C might not be as effective in this area. Any info would be appreciated. We are sailing on 12/18 and counting the days. Thanks all.

We didn't dine in that area, but walked through it a number of times. I don't recall noticing that the A/C was any different in there than elsewhere.

Helen

We started off in that dining room but after the first night we moved to the larger dining room. The dining rooms were hot, especially on formal nights and we noticed on a number of nights that they had opened the big doors to the deck outside which is the promenade deck to try and get some fresh air in.

We found the A/C on the Prinsendam to be all over the place. My sister cruised on her two years ago and she was told by someone from HAL that they had been having trouble with the A/C since taking her over. Obviously they haven't been able to fix it. It is just not even and some rooms are really cold and others are too warm.

I'm glad to hear that - I was preparing for some very cold spots like we experienced on both Carnival and Celebrity, and I'm happy to hear that the dining rooms on Prinsendam are warm. DH has to wear his jacket, but I have to be relatively bare on formal nights. Who can understand fashion?

We are studying the plans you sent and will try to get a nice table by the window. I'm sure it will be lovely.

The air conditioning was just fine on the Prinsendam. We had no problems whatsoever. We ate in both dining rooms and they were comfortable.

Fran,

The men found it to be very warm on Formal nights and as I mentioned the outside doors to the deck were wide open. Perhaps we had warmer weather than you and the air conditioning needed to keep up with all the people. We had a full ship, so there were no empty tables at all.
