If they could diagnoise or a person showed symptoms they probably would. I can see a plane load of passengers stuck on the tarmac for days.

I like the comment that the 2000 passengers were asked to adher to home isolation for a week.what about the people they fly with out of australia to all parts of the globe?

But I am sure there are a lot more people arriving from overseas via airplane that via cruise ship so they may be spending all their effort detecting H1N1 in one place while leaving the gate open elsewhere. On a airplane to australia you are stuck in a small space for with some recirculation of air for a very long time; it could be worse for speading the disease than being on a ship.

They don't have to quarentee the are passngers on the plane, they could place them in a hotel or something. A cruise ship makes it easier since it has all the acomodation and neccessary facilites for people to stay.

It seems to be getting worse. they wont even let the ship back in now that there are confirmed cases amongst the crew.

They are taking this very seriously here and have now grounded the crew of an airline as well.
