Whao - and I thought I was rushing things.

Actually we asked our cruise consultant if she had any information on 2006 schedules while we were on our last cruise - alas - she didn't.

Hey Friends:

Someone on this cruise told me that they had talked to a cruise consultant down on Lower Promenade and it is reported that in January of 2006 the Statendam will be doing some cruises down under in Austrailia.

The Aus/NZ cruises have now been widely reported on CC and elsewhere.

The one thing from those reports that might help is that HAL was hoping to release itineraries for those cruises on 2 December. It's possible that they might release more than just those for the Aus/NZ cruises.

We were waiting for the 2006 Antartic-South American cruises to come out, at the moment they only go up to December, 2005. As they haven't appeared we have now booked on the Regal Princess for a very similar cruise. The Princess schedules were out in July.

We couldn't wait any longer as we need to finalize our dates so that we can get our Qantas F.F. bookings 355 days out, there are only a few seats available.

It is a shame that HAL hasn't organized their itineraries as they have lost two loyal passengers for this cruise to Princess.

Hey Jennie

I am trying to convince some of my crazy cruise critic friends we need to do a group cruise to Australia and New Zealand in 2006, since my 2005 cruise is booked. We need you to host a CC party for us! :D

jc,

Would love to oblige but we will be in South America for six weeks from 2nd January until the middle of February 2006. If you come here, you will love it as there is so much to see and do. I can help you with anything to do with Australia.

JennieUm, no. What's a shame is that you have to book your flight a year in advance!

Dave,

It is better than paying a small fortune to get to S.A. from here. It is a long way and the airlines charge a premium as only Lan Chile and Aerolinas Argentina fly from here. Qantas code shares with Lan Chile.

In mid October my TA was able to give me the dates for a specific HAL cruise I was interested in for August 2006. She said they had the basic cruise descriptions and dates but not the specific stops enroute.

WOW, here I have always been told by the airlines you can't book your flights before 331 days of your departure home!!!

We just cruised the Maasdam from Montreal to Norfolk, and the cruise consultant said that Prinsendam will be doing a world cruise at the beginning of 2006, and that the segment from Mumbai (Bombay) to Rome would cover the total solar eclipse in the Eastern Mediterranean on March 29, 2006.

If this is the case, I am wondering what ship will be sailing to Hawaii from San Diego.

Bringing this to the top in case anyone has any new info about 2006.

Don't quote me but I think it may be the Amsterdam. Just checked with "my source" and it's Amsterdam in early '06 and then Zaandam in late '06.

Esme--

:D - posted it on an earlier thread, so either do a search of Noordam or my name. If you can't find it, I will post it again. I don't know the ports that will be on the itinerary, but there will be cruises out of NY to the Carib before and after the Alaska season. My "source" didn't give me that info. :)

Does your source have any info of HAL having a ship out of either Galveston and/or New Orleans in 2006? There has been rumors that the Statendam was to be home ported over there. Now it seems she is going to Australia in December 2005 and would probably return to the West Coast in the spring for the Alaska season.

Thanks Ken

Got a mailing today with a Mariner offer for the 2006 World Voyage on the Prinsendam - Ft. Lauderdale to NYC via Brazil - the Amazon - Antarctica - South Africa - Suez Canal - Mediterranean. With a solar eclipse thrown in while sailing off of Turkey. Book now for free airfare and an "amedities package" worth $4000 (includes pre-paid tips!). Nothing on the web site yet, though.

I know HAL's World does not revolve around what I want or need but frankly I find it a little weird that little bits of HAL's 2006 offerings are "here and there" but nothing offical is posted on their website. We happen to be among those who need and have been waiting for the 2006 schedule of sailings and as times passes by we have considered booking other cruiselines who do have at least part of their 06 itinerarys available. The New Zealand itinerary is of particular interest to us with people posting the details of at least one sailing yet still nothing on HAL's site or other Agency sites. Makes no sense to me at all.

Sometime back word was that HAL would position Statendam for the late 2005 through 2006 Australia/New Zealand cruise season. Info was to be out 12/1 - anyone see this yet? Thanks - SeaFish

I called HAL today and was told that the full 2006 schedule should be available "in a couple weeks." Woman said only the Hawaii sailings are available now.

Spoke with one of their reps on the phone - she tells me that 2006 itineraries are due to be published rieght after the 1st of the year. We are booked b2b on Celebrity's Constellation for Feb 2006, but may switch to the Veendam if she does the 14 night sailings out of Tampa.

To Seafish:The Statendam will leave San Diego Nov. 17/05 and will arrive in Auckland 35 days later-- via S. America and Tahiti--December 22/05. She will then begin 14 day cruises between Auckland and Sydney thru March/06. She will then go to Hong Kong and Japan.

Hope this helps some.

Like others, I am awaiting the release of these itineraries.

Over the weekend ,checked out the cruise schedules in ports around NZ.
We will just have to wait, and see what eventuates.......
If what I have seen does eventuate,it will be a fabulous cruise.....
