Maasdam, May 8 - 23, showtimes were 8pm and 10pm.
Main Dining, doors opened at 7:45pm and closed at 8pm. That was new for me, but I thought it worked out very well.

So there still seems to be differences but lots of 8 and 10 times. Is HAL going back to the 8 and 10 which most surveys preferred? Anyone know?

Oosterdam Mediterranean April 25- May 19 the shows were 7 and 9 pm.
I had late seating and heard from many people who were just as disappointed in this as I was myself. I mentioned it at the Q & A with the Captain, Hotel Manager etc., the response was that the show times were scheduled this way to accomodate those on early shore excursions. I would imagine that anyone booking a late seating time could stay awake for a 10pm show and still manage to get up for an early excursion.

How about the Rotterdam? If the shows are at 7 and 9pm, does this mean that those with late seating can't get to the shows. What is the latest time for dinner seatings with the flexible dining option?

Grrrrrrrr! We sailed on the Veendam in March and the showtimes were at 8:00 and 10:00 which was great! Now we're booked on a b2b to Alaska on the Ryndam starting on July 31............. I assumed the 8 and 10 was a given, so I'm not happy with the potential 7:00 and 9:00pm!!!:mad::mad::mad:

No doubt there are some who prefer the earlier shows but overwhelmingly posters over the past year or so on a number of occasions have voiced their preference for the later schedule. Some think its so people can go to the casino more, spend more in lounges etc but the consensus on that is that isn't happening either. So why do they have this uneven schedule for shows from ship to ship? Has anyone ever got an official explanation? Will they give one??

On the Westerdam at a coffee chat early in the cruise, several people questioned the CD about the 7 and 9 PM shows and the response was -- the times came from Seattle as they determined that people like these times on this kind of a cruise".
What?? -- That didn't make sense as we were on a repositioning cruise -- which is done only twice a year.

We were on the Nov/Dec cruises and there were a lot of complaints about the show times. Mentioned it on our comment card and at the Q & A session.
Guess they listened to us for once -- but not soon enough for our cruises.

We're going to be on the Eurodam cruising the Baltic in July and are wondering what shows are available. Are they the same as the Caribbean or do they change for Europe? On our last HAL cruise we opted for the onboard movies and have no frame of reference as to what we missed.

How about the Rotterdam? If the shows are at 7 and 9pm, does this mean that those with late seating can't get to the shows. They want those of us who prefer the later dinner seatings to see the show before dinner. No, if we'd wanted to be dressed for dinner earlier, we'd eat earlier. We want to be able to rest, relax before going to pre-dinner drinks, not make time for a show too.

Sometimes they change within Europe. On the E-dam's first cruise the shows were at 8:00 and 10:00. On the second cruise the times had been switched to 7:00 and 9:00.
The CD gave some song and dance story of why the switch, which didn't make any sense. Had there been any truth to the story one would have expected the times to switch back again for the third cruise, as it was the same itinerary as the first one. Nope. The times stayed at 7:00 and 9:00.

Yes, that's exactly what it means. There's no way to go to dinner at 8:00 and be able to get to the show at 9:00.
