I posted on this board about promo 7031, which provides a $50 - $100 per person shipboard credit. (I think it's expired now).

It seems a lot of people saved money using that credit. While lurking on the Nov. 20 Maasdam roll call board I noticed one poster (CDRMark) post that I'm the expert (not really) on that credit, and that I've cost HAL so much money that I'm now in the witness protection program. I responded that I'm in the witless protection program.

When I returned to my stateroom mid-afternoon on embarkation day there was a bottle of champagne awaiting us. Attached was a note to Orcrone, from the witless protection program.

I already thanked everyone on the Nov. 20 sailing, but I wanted to post here to thank everyone again, and to make sure I caught everyone involved.:)

Thanks again. That was a great surprise. DW was shocked, and touched, that people I've never met would do something like this.

Isn't it wonderful to belong to such a nice organization such as the "Witless Protection Program" and get wonderful gifts like a bottle of champagne? Being under such a program, weren't you worried that the bottle may have not really been champpagne???:rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Yes, because of you, we also got that shipboard credit, and although we wish we sent you that bottle, we thank whoever did, because you were so kind to share that information with all of us!

My party of 4 saved $400 thanks to you! Since we are on a Christmas cruise, I will call #7031 a gift from you. The vouchers came in our documents yesterday. This board has been a big help to this first-time cruiser.

Do you know about the beer on the ship? Do they have low carb beer?

We will be thinking about you when we sail. You should come and see us off.I don't know about the low-carb beer. One day they had a special "bucket of beer" for $12.00 (four Coronas in a bucket of ice).

I'll have to see when our friends want to go to the ship, as to what time I'll be there. If it were possible to visit on the ship, I'd say I'd be there for sure. But everyone will want to get on the ship and start their cruise and I'll be standing outside, not allowed past security, kicking and screaming because I want to go also.:(

As organizer and past president of the witless protection program, and current member of the Maasdam 11/20 sailing with the ancient order of the good foots, I was glad to deliver a bagatelle to show the thanks of everyone who benefitted from the promo advice. Next time tell HAL that you want an upgrade to a suite, or else you'll pass more such info! lol
As to how I got your name and cabin number, "You know my methods, Watson. Apply them." Enjoyed your informative reviews.
