We will be cruising for most of November. Is there any chance we will be able to watch some of the Steeler games?
Have you even been tempted to wear your black and gold to the black and gold party with the officers on the ship?

Hello from another Pittsburgher!!
On our Eurodam cruises -- Nov/Dec -- DH did wear his Championship t-shirt from the previous win -- no problems -- but he only wears his t-shirts in the gym.

There was no black and gold with the officers -- they didn't even attend any of the football games shown on the big screen TV's.
No black and golf parties.

On our last long cruise there was a Black and Gold dance with the officers on one of the formal nights. The officers wore their black dress uniforms with gold trim. I made a few jokes about the Steeler party but they fizzled since no one knew what I was talking about.
I guess I will pack my Terrible Towel just in case the sports bar shows one of the games. I will be sad if I have to go 28 days during football season with no Steeler fix.

Which ship will you be on??
On our longer cruises we have only had Black and White Balls -- and they were not on some of our 19 day cruises.

We will be on the Maasdam from Oct 23 to Nov 20.
The Black and Gold party was on the Zaandam in 2005 on the 18 day Panama Canal cruise. We had expected a Black and White Ball and the different name surprised us. The dining room was decorated in Black and Gold that night and I had to check a few times to make sure I hadn't read it wrong since here Gold automatically follows Black :)

Can't say that I've seen a Steeler game on board. There was a New England Patriots game on one of them, but I got up and walked out.

I wore my Dallas Cowboy shirt on my cruise and several people noticed it and gave me a thumbs up! I also go to see the Cowboy game on MNF.
No Steelers though :(

WOW - a New Yorker who is a Cowboys fan? :D
On the Eurodam in Nov. '08, I watched the Packers (don't remember the other team) then the Cowboys / Giants (we lost - boo hoo) in the Sports Bar. If a Steelers game is playing and there's enough people who want to see it, they'll make it happen.
