Who Are We?
Cruise Critic is a community of people who absolutely LOVE cruising.
We all benefit from the exchange of advice that takes place within our Cruise Community; this is a cooperative effort which depends on all of you to make it work well. If you post questions, please try to take the time to answer other members' questions as well. Cruise Critic has adopted a series of guidelines to help make the Cruise Boards easier to use and better for everyone.
Messages posted in Cruise Critic must conform to our Community Guidelines found in this area. Posts that violate these guidelines will be removed from the cruise boards without notice. Repeated violators will lose their posting privileges. We will automatically remove any subsequent inappropriate postings without warning. Please use good judgment in posting any message.
These are moderated message boards about cruising.
This is an important aspect of our Community, the very foundation that continues to contribute to the popularity of Cruise Critic. Please stay on topic within a forum. Off topic posts that do not violate our Community Guidelines will be moved to our Floataway Lounge forum.
One other other item that adds to the enjoyment of the boards -- if you ask a question, please read the answers and acknowledge that members have taken the time to reply to you. It is a breach of "netiquette" to start a topic or question in which you presumably have an interest, then ignore the subsequent discussion.
Our mission is provide a haven on the internet, if you will, that will provide a resource for those planning a cruise and for those that love cruising. Help make this a great source of information for you and your fellow travelers by sharing the name of that wonderful private island you visited on your last cruise or tell us about that fabulous shore excursions you took in Cozumel that just can't be missed! If you have any questions or comments regarding our posting guidelines or any content found on our message boards please be sure and let me know. I'll be happy to discuss them with you.

Who are Hosts? The Community Manager?
Who are Hosts?
Hosts oversee specific forums. They generally have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other actions. Becoming a Host for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are hosting.Hosts Are Here to Help Out; Their Opinions Are Their Own!
Many of our Hosts contribute to various discussions. They are free to contribute, or not contribute, as they see fit. Their opinions are their own. Cruise Critic does not regulate what the staff says about a location, cruise line, shore excursion or travel provider.
Our volunteers are drawn from a wide circle of daily life. Most of them are experienced travelers -- either realtime or "armchair." All are outside the travel field in their professional lives. You should not believe that our hosts have any additional insight or information simply because they have a "Host" prefix to their name. Cruise Critic hosts are not representatives nor employees of Cruise Critic.
The Community Manager has overall control of everything that happens within the Community. The Community Manager oversees how the board is styled, what forums to create and how to organize them, what information to require from members and who to appoint as Hosts. You may contact the Community Manager at: email@example.com
Meet Your Hosts
Host Andy: "I have been a Cruise Critic Host dating back to our Cruise Cafe days on AOL. My passions are cruising, Disney, game shows, and helping others. My favorite cruise line is Celebrity, though I have sailed on several other lines. I enjoy sailing the Caribbean and I've been on about 75 Cruises. I'm an Investment Professional with 30 years in the financial industry, currently a Sr. Vice President for a retail brokerage firm in South Florida. Ladies: I'm single, and looking for My Cruise Partner! Please look for me on the Celebrity, Azamara, Princess, Oceania & MSC Forums."
Host Dan: "I love fine food, fine travel (especially cruises) and fitness (not necessarily in that order)! I am a Realtor in St. Petersburg, and have been a business owner and actor in previous years! Find me on the Luxury Cruise Line forums."
Host Graham: "I have been a Cruise Critic Host since we started as part of AOL and I enjoy the energy and excitement that is shared on Cruise Critic every day by our members. I have sailed on most of the major mainstream cruise lines and find that I enjoy Carnival the best. In my "real life" I manage Food & Nutrition Services for a local hospital, but here on Cruise Critic, you can find me on the Carnival Boards."
Host Joe: "Travel is a true passion of mine, and being a volunteer host with Cruise Critic helps me to give back to the community for all of the assistance that I have received over the years. Travel is not about escaping life but rather experiencing it!"
Host Michell: "I love cruising because it offers something for everyone. My favorite cruise destination so far has been Alaska, but I have a long bucket list! I love hosting our boards because I'm always learning something from our members!"
Host Star: "Skiing used to be my favorite vacation but no more cold and snow for me! it's time for cruising on fabulous ships to fabulous destinations I'd only dreamed about. "Sex on the beach" cocktail beats a hot toddy! Whoops did I say that? LOL See you on board or on the boards -- especially Cruise Fashions & Beauty, and the Norwegian Cruise Line forum."
Asst. Community Manager: "I started cruising in 1984 on the SS Norway and have been hooked ever since. I've done every major cruise destination and hope to revisit the Baltic's and Australia some day. Cruising is my favorite way to vacation!"
