Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. FYI...as of right now there are 3 obstructed view balconies available on this sailing.
  2. I agree I avoid connecting cabins too. I'm sure I chose this cabin for the balcony. Yes, on some ships, the Sapphire being one of them, the caribe balconies are larger than most and half covered and half uncovered.
  3. I have been in C742 on the Sapphire. I don't remember it being a connecting cabin so obviously it wasn't an issue. The 3rd and 4th beds do drop from the ceiling as mentioned above and aren't noticeable during the day. The balcony is the best thing about this cabin. It is slightly larger and really does have the extra angled area as shown on the deck plans and it's partially covered. This is probably my favorite balcony out of all of the balcony cabins we have had.
  4. This happened to me when I wanted to book a premium deluxe balcony. I eneded up having my TA call Princess and she was able to get me my desired cabin but she did have to wait on hold and get a supervisor to approve it.
  5. I can't answer as to if the ship has the capabilities to do and INR testing and I hope once you get an answer you will share it here. I can say I have been home testing weekly with an INR meter for 6+ years. I have traveled with my meter many times. It allows me to test as needed especially while away from home because we all know our diets can and do change while on vacation. I message my results to my cardiologist and we adjust my medication accordingly. I also spot check my meter results a few times a year, comparing my meter result with a lab draw result and have never had any discrepancies. I have learned that warfarin doesn't have to change your life and it's nothing to be afraid of if it is managed and monitored correctly. Please talk with your doctor and see what they feel is best for you. Maybe a home meter is a possibility. Hope you have a wonderful cruise!!!
  6. My son's 1st cruise was at age 3 and we stopped in Cabo. We ended up doing the Pirate Ship excursion though Princess. Part of the excursion included snorkeling but of course he was too little for that but the crew still helped me get him in and out of the water to swim (with a life vest) for a few minutes to cool off ( we went in September and it was hot) and he even got to "captain the ship". As he got older (he is now 18) we have been back to Cabo many times. We have chartered a private sailboat, gone to the beach, been whale watching, horseback riding and just wandered around the marina. Cabo has always been family friendly for us and is one of our favorite ports. I recommend a Princess excursion for your 1st time cruising and your 1st time in a port especially having small children. I believe Princess still offers the Pirate Ship excursion and whale watching should also be good in February. It will be cool leaving and returning to LA in February and it might even be cool while in Cabo especially if you choose an excursion that you are on the water, I'd pack jackets and/or sweatshirts. You didn't mention it but the kids club, or Camp Discovery, on Princess was my son's favorite he loved spending time there. So definitely check that out too. Princess staff is amazing with kids so I'm sure you all will have a wonderful time. Happy cruising!!!
  7. I have not been on the Island Princess but the very last cabin on the side of the ship is our preferred location. My husband doesn't like true aft cabins and I do so they are a good compromise for us. You may feel some movement and vibration being aft but we have never been bothered by it. It's also a quiet location since not many people have to walk past your cabin to get to theirs. Enjoy your cruise!!!
  8. Thank you all for sharing your experiences. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  9. Hi, I have our first B2B cruise booked a 3 day and a 10 day for March 2024. I have a lot of non-refundable OBC on our 1st (3 day) cruise and I am wondering if the left over OBC will stay on our account and fall over to the 2nd (10 day) cruise. If not then I need to spend my OBC in the first 3 days. I usually purchase a flower arrangement before our cruise can I purchase flowers when I get on board so that I can use my OBC to pay for them? I wish Princess would allow you to use OBC to make pre-cruise purchases of items, other than just using it for pre-purchasing shore excursions. Thanks!
  10. I had some excursions and other items to purchase in my cart trying to decide what we wanted and I was unable to delete them. The page said updating and basically froze. I waited several days and eventually I was able to delete the ones we didn't want. Not sure why it happened but usually with Princess website or app if you wait a few days things fix themselves.
  11. I wanted a Premium Deluxe Balcony for my Discovery cruise for both the sofa and the XL balcony. They showed up on the Princess website as only available to book for 3. After some lengthy discussions with Princess my TA was able to book us in the cabin I wanted. It seems that some categories such as the Premium Deluxe balconies are guaranteed only even when there are many cabins available if you search for 3 verses 2 in a cabin because of course they would rather have 3 in the cabin. It makes no sense since all Premium Deluxe balconies sleep 3 and Mini Suites also sleep 3 since they have the sleeper sofa and they seem to be available to book for 2.
  12. Thank you!!! Planning on taking advantage of this!
  13. Do you know for certain that these giftcards can be used to pay for the cruise itself? I plan to check with my TA prior to purchasing but wondering if you have experience using these.
  14. My son's first cruise was on Princess when he was 3, he is now 17. Princess is his favorite cruise line (he has been on Carnival and NCL) and he loved Princess "kids club" when he was younger. The staff spoiled him in every way possible on every cruise. His longest cruise was 10 days and honestly it was easier to entertain him as a small child than it was with the boredom attitude of a teenager. Lol. I have always heard that there tends to be fewer kids on longer cruises but we usually cruise on school breaks so there are lots of kids. I believe it's all what you make of it!!! Happy cruising!!!
  15. I understand that because I have booked 3 to a cabin for the last 15 years and prefer a sofa bed to an upper when booking 3 in a cabin. Which used to be non-existent on Princess unless you booked a mini suite or suite. That being said I've never had an issue getting a cabin for 3 but getting the 2 person cabin I wanted was way more challenging. Mini suites also have a sofa and sleep 3 and they are almost always available for 2 people to book. So I can book 2 in a mini suite/suite with a sofa but not a balcony with a sofa?
