Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I was on this past Mardi Gras cruise and we were alerted around 130pm on Friday that due to Medical Emergency we would be diverting to Nassau - arriving there at 6pm. We stayed in Nassau longer than I expected but the next announcement to us was around 8pm that we would arrive to Port Canaveral at 9am. Friday evening we were all given letters to give to our airline in the event we had to make changes so we would not incur any change fees. I had a 1230pm flight which I know is cutting it close but with TSA pre check decided to take my chances keeping my flight plans. It took 1hr to get clearance as they did not begin Diamond Self Debarkation until 10am but I was able to make it to my gate with time to spare. I'm sure this wasn't the case for many as I know a couple I was sitting next to yesterday morning had kept their flight plans for a 1150am flight and may not have had the same luck I did making the original plans.
  2. As someone that has to stay connected and work while on a cruise I am also bummed about the slow elimination of libraries. I spent 2 weeks onboard the Horizon last year and I was in their beautiful library everyday as were many other passengers. My only gripe is that the space had to be shared with the Art curators so they would need to setup/use the space but I'd rather take that inconvenience then have no library at all.
  3. Yes! Absolutely. We spent more time off in the evening in Aruba as there is more to do in the immediate vicinity that the port is in than we did in Bonaire but no issues whatsoever coming/going as your time allows.
  4. Sorry for delayed response - our formal nights were Sunday and Friday.
  5. I was on the Celebration 8 day cruise a few weeks ago and as previously said it was business as usual. The one thing I do remember is that the big "Circus" show that has the high flying aerialist was shown 3 different times during the week - and then a 4th date they had only the music from the show but were saying it was songs from the Greatest Showman - so with all this said, I have to assume one of the days this fell on would have been a port day for Aruba/Bonaire. I will say that Aruba is the busier port with more actives that kept people off a bit longer but by 8pm it felt like a normal evening minus still being in port while at dinner. They did open up the Casino earlier while still in port in both Aruba and Bonaire so that could also be a factor in why things felt semi-normal even though it was a long port day.
  6. I just got off the 8-Day ABC cruise on the Celebration yesterday. Our formal nights were Sunday & Friday.
  7. They literally just posted this evening that the founder passed away today so they may be busier than normal due to this news.
  8. I just took a B2B on the Horizon a few weeks ago where my 2nd leg I was turning Diamond and had cruises properly linked together ahead of time. While my luggage tags and boarding pass for the 1st cruise listed "Diamond" my sail and sign cards for both cruises listed me as "Platinum" - I did ask Guest Services during my 2nd cruise if I could exchange for my "official" white card and they had no issues completing this request.
  9. I've been able to I-Message friends and family back home who also had an iPhone while connected to any of the ships wifi plans & in airplane mode with no issue. I was unable to send any (text) messages to non-iphone carriers unless through WhatsApp or other social app.
  10. We had the experience of the Aft Suite on the Mardi Gras the past January, our room was on starboard side deck 12. We never felt "on display" and when sitting in any of the provided loungers only had a the sea view and none of deck 8 below. We loved the room, view and balcony so much we have it booked for May' 23 on the Celebration and again in January '24 back on the Mardi Gras.
  11. Just to add my .02, from my recollection, the above has been standard practice for quite some time. I've never been on a ship where Mongolian Wok was open for dinner & Blue Iguana has always closed during following the lunch rush.
  12. Hello! Yes, I ended up calling customer service and they stated I was receiving the error because there were "too many characters in the 1st line for the street address" - also, to note, that if we have too many attempts on the account, it will essentially lock up and they would have to escalate it to their IT so you will no longer get that message. Appreciate your help and input getting the error resolved.
