Surcharges for drinks in Retreat Lounge
TourDeCruise replied to TrueCruiseaholic's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I was thinking that you made it possible with your influence for the return of Whispering Angel to the Premium Package. I wanted to thank you. We will be on Ascent next month and are hoping they have it in the Retreat Lounge, Grand Bistro (I particularly like to get a rose at lunch there), and Blu. It is a dry rose and not sweet, right? -

We are! Hoping for a Boston to Greenland and Canada and back to Boston. -
Now the admin wants a screenshot of the Zenith Sea Pass card as proof because she recently experienced potential scammers with the CC account screenshot where two different people sent her the same screenshot!

Thank you! Looking forward to seeing if they offer the similar cruise (Boston to Boston with Canada and Greenland) for 2025 and if we want to switch to that Brillance cruise if offered or stay with the 2025 Iceland/Greenland to Boston cruise with Celebrity Silhouette that we recently booked. -

Any idea when the Brilliance cruises from Boston for September 2025 will be deployed for booking? We are still holding out hope that Brillance could do a Boston to Boston cruise with Canada and Greenland similar to Jewel's 2024 cruise. I am hoping the cruise will be after the Brilliance TA from Southhampton to Boston. Meanwhile, we booked Celebrity Silhouette's cruise for Reykjavik to Boston with Greenland and Canada in route for August 2025. But we will still consider the Brilliance cruise if it materializes. -

I can check out about wine in Retreat lounge on Beyond starting Monday. We will be in Aqua Class on this sailing so cannot check out the Retreat sundeck or Luminae as we only have Retreat lounge access for being Zenith. We have been in Retreat/suite class before but not for this sailing. I will be checking out wine list in Blu too. -
The seafood lunch was on the last day (December 9th) of the Ascent Maiden Voyage cruise ending on December 10th. We did not go for fear it would be a madhouse. We opted for a nice quiet lunch at Grand Bistro instead!

Surcharges for drinks in Retreat Lounge
TourDeCruise replied to TrueCruiseaholic's topic in Celebrity Cruises
They were happy to charge us $2.40 per person, per glass on our Ascent Maiden Voyage. 😁 We did not get surcharged for it in Retreat on embarkation day, which was the only time we had it there. -

The way I interpret LHB's reply is what is stocked in Retreat will be included without an upcharge. May be Premium package only, and if we are lucky, some of the wines at $19 for which they would not surcharge us. If they have to bring it to Retreat per your request, you would be surcharged. This is how I am interpreting LHB's reply. On the December 3rd Ascent Maiden Voyage, I requested and was served the J&H Selbach Reisling without an upcharge. Sometimes I was told it was not available. I looked at the bottle before they poured, and it was Selbach. Hope it stays that way that there is no upcharge for the Selbach Reisling. -

We always get it by the glass unless something changed since December 10th when we debarked Ascent (same on other X ships too). -

Was your cruise the December 10th Ascent cruise? And you will be on the January 8th Beyond cruise? We are heading up to Retreat right after boarding and putting luggage in cabin and see if they upcharge for Mer Soleil. If so, the Steel Chardonnay is good and on the Premium package and we have a few more wines that we like too on the Premium package without an upcharge. -

Jean Luc Colombo rose which is $17, included with Premium package, is dry. -

We will be on Beyond on January 8th and will see if there are surcharges in Retreat. Mer Soleil is our usual Chardonnay onboard. We were able to get it in the Retreat on the Ascent Maiden Voyage without a surcharge (only had at beginning of cruise in Retreat) but were surcharged $2 in all restaurants on the sailing. Which Rose? I had the Jean Luc Colombo Rose (hope I have the name right) that I enjoyed; it was priced at $17. -
This is the one we are waiting to be released so we can make a decision between this one or a couple other different options. So far, we have not seen it released for booking. We did get to see the itinerary when we were on the Ascent earlier this month, but the itinerary could change given they still have not released the cruise for booking.

We just got off the Ascent Maiden Voyage. They were charging us $2.00 per glass per person plus 20% gratuity for our go-to Mer Soliel chardonnay. $4.80 for two of us for one glass each. Some wines that we enjoyed and with no upcharge were Bordeaux Blend red, California Blend red, Layer Cake red, Jean Luc Colombo Rose, Selbach Reisling, Steel Chardonnay, Grenache, and Elegance Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. Not a fan of Malbec Tapiz. Malbec Alta Vista okay. I am a little pickier for Malbec wines which I really like but the ones I like are going to be way above the Premium limit. Opulence Chardonnay was $25 a glass but $8 above the Premium package limit.
