  1. Yes in the retreat it's not hard to deduce who is in the top suites. The concierge's and retreat managers pay them a lot of attention.
  2. Yes I fully understand. I posted as a hint to others who may be using a VPN and wondering why certain functionality on the app doesn't work.
  3. I had this same situation on Equinox where the IT manager had an access point placed in my Deluxe Veranda stateroom. The Ethernet jack was located next to the power plugs on the desk. Didn't try to direct connect to that jack.
  4. Before final payment you can adjust to the prevailing rate/promo as many times as you want. After final payment nothing unless you have booked within 48 hrs of the drop.
  5. I cancelled a refundable reservation last week. The deposit was pending credit on my credit card account 2 days later.
  6. There are some things that do show up once your connected to the ships wifi. Like your account balance. I use a VPN and with the VPN active I can't see my account balance, I have to disable VPN to see.
  7. We have also been loyal Celebrity (Zenith) and did our first Windstar in January. We used the laundry service quite a bit. I'd say it was maybe a bit better than the Celebrity standard wash/press/hanger service. Off on our second one next week.
  8. Since the OP will be on the sailing I'm sure they will be able to discretely find out who is actually in the room. I too wouldn't be surprised if it was a cruise line executive. If that's the case then it's more inexcusable.
  9. Thinking about this more, I wonder how many other phone calls they had to make as I'm sure the CS was won by someone which opened one or more lower categories. It's really an oversold situation and compensation should be more in line with that, although they are not being denied boarding.
  10. I agree this is very poor form for Celebrity and that minimal OBC (assuming in the couple hundred $$) range which they always state as a "One time Good Will Gesture" would not be adequate after committing to a $5k+ upgrade. I had something a little bit similar that was handled much better. I had booked an AQ room about 3 weeks before sailing. I got a call about a week later that they had oversold AQ and would I accept a CC stateroom with a refund of about 25%. I was concerned that the refund would be in OBC, but no it was refunded to my CC. Long story short I was able to pick any CC cabin I wanted. We had all the AQ amenities in our room and were able to eat in Blu. It was a win-win and was left satisfied. The exact opposite experience of the OP. So in my opinion a better response from Celebrity would be to provide some of the PH amenities for the OP in their CS, like unlimited specialty dining, laundry etc. Maybe if the onboard staff is aware of what happened there might be some accommodation
  11. The only thing that can usually be done is to identify a "better" cabin at least $1 more than you paid and upgrade to it paying the difference. Of course the upgrade will be at the prevailing rate/promo for that category. Sometimes if there has been a dramatic price drop you can get a much better cabin for a small $$. Other than that there's nothing.
  12. TA gave you the right answer. It's back to the way it was pre-covid. During the restart there was a program called Cruise with Confidence which did give a price gty if it dropped after final you got the difference in OBC. That's been gone for over a year. Read the other thread.
  13. The new embarkation procedures are very efficient. If you arrive at 12:30 I'm sure you will not have any issue boarding in a relatively short time. Most of the rush should be over by then.
  14. We were on Infinity last March and it was problematic getting connected to the ships wifi infrastructure. Once connected to wifi the Starlink internet was fabulous. I suspect it was the number of people trying to connect to wifi that was the problem as it was very difficult to connect in crowded places. Infinity recently had dry dock so I would think that this problem may have been addressed with increased number or updated wifi access points.
