  1. OP, so sorry this happened to your DH. I'm not sure how I'd react if in the same situation, but I know it would be some level of upset. There does seem to be a lack understanding of how serious of a potential medical problem this could be for your DH. My suggestion is to stay as calm as possible and revisit GR and medical with a pen and paper in hand. Begin asking everyone for their names and official titles. Be sure to say, "Please be so kind as to spell your last name for me." You'll be surprised at how responsive staff become when they realize their name might be mentioned. I agree with the other posters who say compensation is warranted. At the least I'd be looking for complimentary laundry, the equivalent of 2 days FCC for the 2 days disrupted trying to address the situation, the requested paperwork within 24hrs, and a pampered dinner at Murano to help you both feel better.
  2. We were in Grand Cayman 2 weeks ago. There's a bar in the port area that advertises free internet with a bar purchase, but said their antenna was knocked out during a storm a few weeks ago. Maybe it'll be available by the time you visit. The bartender said a bar just outside the port gate and to the left had internet available, but I can't verify that since we decided to skip internet at that point and instead wait to access the internet in Aruba later in our trip.
  3. I had a 1yr OBC with 1 yr expiration that expired on Jan 1st. I expected they would automatically refund. We were on the Equinox 2 weeks ago and asked about the refund timeframe when we visited Future Cruises. They confirmed that our certificate had expired, but was still showing in the system. The rep needed to request the refund and said it could take 4-6 weeks.
  4. CDNPolar, I appreciate your response. I was looking for information on the cruise line or other tour company that was used for the Northeast Arctic cruise. We are searching for a cruise that will take us to the Pond Inlet area without emptying our bank account. We know this will be expensive due to the remoteness of the location. thanks again.
  5. Tony, could you share more details about who you booked with for your 2006 expedition cruise?
  6. Thanks for the heads up, I understand Stingray City is out near Rum Point. I’m just trying to figure out my options; go in one direction or the other
  7. They have iPads at the muster station that passengers can use if you haven’t watched the video yet when you go to check in.
  8. Where did the vans drop off/pick up? Did you identify a specific spot or is everyone dropped at the same location? Did you rent loungers and an umbrella? If yes, do you recall the cost?
  9. @bookbabe, thank you for posting this link! It is very informative. Is it possible to access Stingray City via the beach or would we need to book a boat tour? I'm also wondering if there's an easy way to get to that area without booking a tour.
  10. We were on a ship for last years Super Bowl and all the festivities were in the theater.
  11. I just reviewed the website and my cruise docs that arrived this past week and there is no mention of wine having to be in carry ons.
  12. Yes, this is correct. You can also take a glass of wine out of the room and bring it anywhere you want. You just can't carry the bottle around the ship with you.
  13. An intermediate tier would likely include something more than what you get at Elite+, but less than Zenith. Maybe deeper discounts on specialty, drink packages, internet, etc. could work. Special sea day lunch with officers (invite Elite++ and Zenith)? I agree with what others have been saying about the limited HH drink menu. That made sense to speed things up when drinks were offered at one venue. It would be nice if they allowed ordering of any drinks allowable from the classic menu during the HH.
  14. $25 but that's only if you bring the bottle with you to dinner. Your cabin steward can provide you with a bottle opener and appropriate glasses for you to enjoy in your room. You can fill your glass and bring that with you into the dining room, theater, where ever you wish. When we bring a smaller cabin wine glass into the dining room, the somellier usually swaps that glass out for one of the Reidel glasses.
