When we sailed in Alaska, there was a posted dress code in the daily. It said. 'Long sleeved dress shirts'. I only brought one long sleeved shirt. I was worried when I wore a short sleeved shirt- but not a problem. I felt relieved when upon entering the dining room, it looked like a lumberjack convention going on. No utility belts though. Be advised that there are NO Specialty Dining benefits for Elites. However, there is 15% discount for Elite PLUS members. That is a different tier. You may have been given some incorrect info.
Also, many zeniths are hooked on Celebrity and no need to get feedback from them. Many are guaranteed bookings. But I think it is more related to numbers.
You just show up at the dining room of your choice when you want to eat. If you find a particular server you really like, you can ask to be seated in that area on other evenings. No need for reservations.
