Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Ship: Edge Cruise length: 7 nights Sail date: 26 AUG 2023 Captain’s Club Tier: Select Booked through Celebrity Direct or via TA: booked cruise through TA Current Cabin: Aqua Class A2 Bid? Yes If Yes- Bidding Details: Cabin Category: Aqua Class Sky Suite Notification Date: 24 AUG 2023, 2 days before sailing Accepted/Rejected: REJECTED :( General comments: Cruise showed very full but Move Up bid showed pending until today. Bid the minimum (Eur 600 pp)
  2. I am a experienced Celebrity cruiser, and have absolutely positive (if not better) experiences with Seabourn. Seabourn is more exclusive, there is not the constant upselling with "only today" promotions, which I find very annoying and tacky at Celebrity. Everything is inclusive, their "basic" wine selection is very very good. One night at the MDR, we were asked by our waiter if we liked the wine, so he could send a bottle up to our room (complimentary!). They don't know No for an answer. If they don't have it in a bar, they will get it for you at a different bar if they have time and you're kind. Unlimited caviar & *real* champagne. Once per cruise a signature event is included. For us it was an evening classical concert in the ruins of Ephesus in turkey. Seabourn rented the whole site, so there were only Seabourn guests there, and all drinks were included. Some other thins to consider, which to me are not negative: - Small ship - Entertainment is more old style, and there is not a big theatre. - Age is a bit higher than Celebrity. - The decor is a bit older. Seabourns vibe is more modern than classical luxury @ Regent I would say.
  3. When I click the link in the email, I'm taken to the page beloew. Is "Update Offer" considered the same as "Pending" ?
  4. Are there any good ship tour videos on youtube of the Nova yet? During the Travel Agent cruise of Explora Journeys there were so many youtube videos just a few days later, but I havent been able to find anything on Silver Nova yet.
  5. Try (Ultra) Luxury cruising like Seabourn. Yes it's more expensive, but if you can afford it, it has way more value. Small ships, no constant upselling, all inclusive fare's, almost no kids, smaller ports, overall a more intimate atmosphere.
  6. I did not have the offer in my sailing neither, but I called the Captains Club helpdesk, and they were able to find a workaround: They added On Board Credit for the amount of the discount of the specific order I wanted (50% Upgrade Classic > Premium Bev Package), and then they took that off as a discount, offering me effectively the same discount as the Flash Sale. It took me 3 calls, but in the end I managed to get the deal with a workaround from a helpful employee!
  7. We are considering upgrading from Classic to a Premium beverage package, but we are curious what kind of better wines we get for that upgrade. Does anybody have photos of wine lists on Edge, so that we can consider to upgrade or not? Thanx a lot! 🍷
  8. Hi! I am on the same cruise! Original booking Aqua Class, but I have only bid on Aqua Class Suite for Eur 590,- pp because we don't wanna loose the spa access. I was therefore wondering what your "Bid Expired" for AQ Suite means.. ?
  9. Thanx a lot everybody! Good to see that shuttles within the port are a thing. I'm asking cause I'm looking for DIY Rome options, as Civitavecchia is a port of call on our itinerary (not a turnaround port). I've been in Civitavecchia on previous cruises years ago, and I know how much "hassle" this port is. So I'm looking for an easy way to get to Rome, without having to pay obscene cruiseline shore-ex prices. . Does anybody have experience with local tour companies offering Civitavecchia<->Rome day shuttle bus services?
  10. Hi! I am familiar with Civitavecchia port and the long distance it can be (depending where your ship is docked on the long warf) walking from your ship to the train station. On a previous cruise with Seabourn, the cruise line provided shuttle busses from the ship to the port-entrance. Does Celebrity also offer a shuttle service from the ship to the cruise terminal entrance? Or maybe even the train station? Haven't seen it in the excursion list of my specific cruise. Thanx a lot!
  11. Thanx! But... I read that San Pelegrino for example is not available in the classic package at all. Not even when you want to pay the difference. Thats why I'm considering to upgrade. For peace of mind, and cause we're wine-snobs. 😅
  12. Hi Everybody, We have booked Aqua Class for Edge in August. While prepping for the cruise at the "Plan My Cruise" page on Celebrity.com, it is stated that "Pre-cruise pricing is always cheaper than on board!" We are considering upgrading from Classic beverage package > Premium BP, offered pre-cruise price is Eur 22/per person/per day, which seems pretty standard. Now, I have sailed on Celebrity many times before (but pre All Included-era), and I know that during Embarkation day they are always upselling like crazy, including beverage packages which they sell as "deals". Are pre-cruise beverage package prices really cheaper? Should I upgrade the beverage package now, pre-cruise? Or should I wait until boarding? Or does it not matter at all? Thanx!
  13. Thanx for the clarification! In that case I was/am at least Select or even Elite. Hopefully I have not disappeared in the Club, so I can use some perks on my next cruise.
  14. Does anybody have a CC customer service email? 🙂
