Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. If staying in Rotterdam what hotels would you recommend that isn't to far from the cruise terminal. Also is there a hotel at the Amsterdam airport that you would recommend?
  2. We are cruising out of Rotterdam next May and will be flying into Amsterdam airport. Does anyone know the best way to travel to Rotterdam other than the Holland shuttle the day of the cruise. We plan to fly in a couple of days prior to the cruise and would like to get to Rotterdam then instead of waiting until the day of the cruise and take the shuttle.
  3. Is it correct that when you disembark in Galveston you are required to pay a tax on duty free liquor even though you are in transit back to Canada the day you get off the ship? Is this something that you can do prior to getting off the ship, or is it done as you go through customs? Will this in any way delay getting on the bus to the George Bust airport? We are on the first bus to the airport for a flight early afternoon. Thanks
  4. We are sailing out of NY on the Enchanted Princess. We received an email from Princess with the opportunity to bid for an upgrade at cabin levels above what we have purchased. Just questioning whether we should do it or not. Has anyone done this and how satisfied you were with the process and the cabin you received. Any information about it would be appreciated.
  5. Just received an email from Princess about bidding on an upgrade for our upcoming cruise. Has anyone done this and any advice
  6. Sailing soon after missing three years of travel. The last time we sailed Princess Elite passengers received 120 (I think) free internet minutes. Now that they are talking about this MedallionNet do Elite passengers have to buy internet time? If so a definite loss for Elite passengers. Would appreciate any info you can provide.
  7. We are booked into Baja 627 on the Enchanted Princess. Anyone who may have stayed in that cabin and give some feedback will be appreciated.
  8. We have confirmed a one night stay at a LGA hotel for our November cruise with Princess. Speaking to Princess they are saying that their transfer to the ship from LGA is $93. a person. Knowing that we think we will do a taxi as there are 4 of us travelling together. Has anyone done the taxi from LGA to the pier and if so do you have a ballpark dollar amount for that type of transport? Also, not mowing New York travel companies at all, is there one you would recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. We are sailing from New York’s Brooklyn pier in November and have friends who are flying into Newark and will meet us at the pier. Other than the Princess transfers which are now $100. per person they are looking for another option. They aren’t really fans of Uber so can anyone suggest another option for them. I was thinking a taxi. Can anyone recommend a taxi and give me an idea of what it would cost so that I can pass it on to them? Any information and/or suggestions would be appreciated
  10. This sounds good. I know you mention a ferry near the hotel. We wouldn’t be able to do a ferry but is the trip from the hotel to the cruise terminal a reasonable option?
  11. We are sailing from New York’s Brooklyn pier in November and want to overnight near the pier the night before the cruise. Can anyone recommend a hotel near the pier that is reasonably priced and is clean, safe and at least reasonably quiet? The other option would be to stay at LaGuardia for the night and taxi over to the pier the next day. If we were to consider that can anyone recommend a hotel at the airport that also fits the above criteria. Also any idea of cost from the airport to the pier? in the past we have stayed in Newark and went from there but want to fly into LaGuardia this time. Any help would be appreciated
