Thats so weird because I changed my Mum from an oceanview to a balcony a few days after the $1 event had ended and they didnt require anymore of a deposit. Thanks for all the help.

Hi there, I recently called HAL to upgrade us to a different category of room. I booked during the $1 deposit event. They wanted me to pay the rest of the normal deposit (almost 1600) now. I ended up keeping the same room because I dont have that money now. The thing is...I booked my Mum last week with the $1 deposit. Then I called a few days after that to upgrade her room and wasnt asked to pay anything more? So Im confused. Should I call back and try to get a different person? Thanks *please let me know if I am in the wrong

A few weeks ago I was asking lots of questions and I just wanted to say thanks for all the replies and patience you have shown me. We booked! We will be on the Nieuw Statendam on June 1 to 15, 2024 It goes from Copenhagen to Norway and Iceland and stops in Scotland too. We booked us in an inside guarantee. And we booked my Mum and stepdad in an oceanview on deck 1. However, today I was sneaky and called in to upgrade them to an unobstructed balcony guarantee We will be paying for their upgrade. I hope they enjoy the surprise and their first cruise. Thanks again 🙂

Thank you for all the responses. I appreciate them. Thats great about the no portholes. We will probably be in an inside and I think it doesnt really matter if we are near them or not. Im more considered with getting them a great room. 🙂 When I was asking about entertainment, I was wondering about a singing/dancing show or comedian or something for after dinner. We're not into belly flop contests or that kind of stuff. @CNSJ We plan to sail next June or July. We are looking at Iceland. Thanks for all the help.

Hi there, my husband and I will be cruising with my Mum and stepdad next year. We most likely are going to go on HAL. My Mum and stepdad will be first time cruisers. We've been on a few lines. My husband will be 50 next year and I will be 47. My Mum and stepdad are in their late 70s but they have quite active lifestyles. We are looking for good food, good service, and good entertainment. We've narrowed it down to a few cruises and they are all on the Nieuw Statendam. I have a few questions. They will be getting an oceanview room. I cant seem to figure out which categories of OV have portholes. Are there many public spaces on the ship to read a book or just look out at the beautiful scenery? All of us are geeky..is there trivia? Lectures? Classes (preferably free?) What about entertainment? Sorry for all the questions. Anything you can share would be great. Thanks.

I havent sailed Royal Caribbean in about 6 years so forgive me if this is a stupid question. Once upon a time, there were savings certificates (I think that is the correct term) for discounts on select cruises. Is this still a thing? If so, could you please pass on the website? Thanks so much.
