Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The one that takes you to the shopping area, restaurant and beach is free.
  2. I do not recommend the RockyMountaineer train unless you can fall asleep in the lazy boy type seating and sleep all day! It was like being totally confined and I was in the Gold with a separate dining and bar area. I spent most of my days on the little platform between the cars! All you see are beautiful amazing places that should not be missed. On the train with no stops! Beautiful trip for a motor home or car travel! Yes it is mountainous but big wide open roads. Much bigger roads than the U.S. Rockies. Giant roads compared to New England Mountains! We were on the train by 5:00am! Left the hotel at 4:00am. Arrived in the evening hotel at 11:30pm to midnight. And repeat! Missed all of our evening hotel dinners! If you can’t drive it’s an ok alternative just to see the area.
  3. I have to wait until June!
  4. I left HAL for a while because of paying double as I travel solo. I’ve been with Oceania only because it costs me less. But I miss HAL and in back paying double. Oceania bag had no zipper! It wasn’t very user friendly.
  5. I’m glad that it has a zipper!
  6. Has anyone received the Orange Club bag? is it a zippered top? Is it canvas?
  7. This will be my third year in a row staying at the Marriott Waterfront! Amazing hotel! On the water! Everything everywhere. Restaurants! Pikes Market walking distance! There is a Target and it’s either CVS or Walgreens in Pikes Market. On the waterfront crab dinners like I’ve never had before! Delicious! Up the hill Pink Door restaurant! Google it. I love it. Reservations hard to get but they have a standby like and I got in quickly twice. Oh walked to MOPOP, Needle and Chululy Glass. I recommend taxi to get there and walk back to the hotel which is downhill all the way. I paid $45 from airport to hotel and around $20 to the ship. Plus tip Also the left of the hotel on the way to Pikes Market there is an elevator to take you up one of the hills. It’s right outside the hotel. The hotel stay is almost better than the cruise! I stay three nights pre cruise! Enjoy!
  8. These age/weight limits are nothing new. I cruise a lot and my husband was over 65 years ago and we were very limited on what I could book. You just get blocked and the reservation for the excursion blocks. If it happens to slip through you get on the ship and find out it was never booked and find a credit on your original form of payment. If you check with them you get told no exceptions. For years I have had to book private excursions due to the age restrictions. Alaska flight excursions they have every one stand on a scale and big over it’s $100 and up extra but you may not be with your group. They average the weight out between their planes.
  9. Lounge only on certain ships
  10. I’m looking at this plan now but I’m seeing $50,000 medical. Is there a way to increase it. I don’t see the option
  11. Great to see your post! Hope all is well with you and your family! I’m good. Still going on cruises! I finally made it to Europe! A Christmas Markets river cruise in Paris.
  12. I no longer insure trips much too expensive. I concentrate on medical coverage and evacuation coverage. But GEOBLUE was one million medical coverage. It has dropped to one hundred thousand coverage because I am over 70! I’m 72! So now I’m looking for other insurance coverage! Any suggestions?
