Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were staying in Naples, so we purchased the ferry tickets to Capri the day we went. There was a sizable line to purchase tickets. The ferry ride is about 30-35 minutes each way, assuming you take the fast ferry. Capri is beautiful, but always crowded. To see the town of Capri & take the bus to Ana capri (Strongly suggested, if you go), one needs a good 3-4 hours. Walk to end of ferry dock and make right, bus station is on your right to purchase tickets to Anacapri. If time is limited, I would take the bus to Anacapri upon arrival & if you still have time when you return on the bus you can take in the town of Capri. In Anacapri, the chairlift to Monte Solaro (Views are exceptional) is an experience not to be missed. .PS: Very few things are cheap on Capri. VBG
  2. At least it looks like they separated the colored cloths from the whites, so the colors don't run.😄
  3. Naples - Presuming you dock at Stazione Marittima cruise terminal. Naples is a walking town. Here are a few suggested sight within walking distance from the cruise terminal. Sansevero Chapel Museum - The Veiled Christ is a 1753 marble sculpture by Giuseppe Sanmartino exhibited in the Cappella Sansevero, Naples, Italy. Veiled Christ is considered one of the world's most remarkable sculptures. Its remarkable. 25- min. walk NOTE: ticket needed to enter, can be purchased on line before your voyage. Highly suggested to purchase because quite often sold out. One of, if not considered the top sight in Naples. Teatro de San Carlo - Naples opera house. One of the most famous in Italy & beautiful inside. 15-min walk from terminal. Piazza del Plebiscito - Near opera house, 14-min walk from terminal. Galleria Umberto I - Indoor shopping center, not far from opera house. Wonderful architecture. 15-min walk from terminal. Castel dell 'Ovo - 25-min. lovely walk along the water from the cruise terminal. When you come out of the terminal its to the left. Piazzeria Speranzella - If you want a very highly rated true Neapolitan pizza. Via Speranzella 84. Approx. 20-min from cruise terminal. Ferry to Capri - 3-min walk from terminal, ferry ride approx. 30 minutes. Make sure you visit Anacapri, and take the chair lift to Monte Solaro, views are fantastic.
  4. Since we're reminiscing a bit, here are a few from our 2010 Nordic Navigation Cruise which celebrated Crystal's 20th Anniversary. from Mexico City
  5. Still fondly remember visiting the Commune of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, prior to leaving from Monte Carlo on our first Crystal cruise. Totally enjoyed Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
  6. The Symphony revision strikes me as the look of a modern diner atmosphere. Not necessarily bad, just not that laid back relaxed atmosphere, IMHO.
  7. Maybe this might be a little helpful: Here are some est. walking times needed to go from central train station (Hauptbahnhof) to some popular sights: Reichstag Building - 15 min. Brandenburg Gate - 18 min. Berliner Dom (Cathedral) - 33 min. Pergamon Museum - 30 min. (Very close to Berliner Dom). Walking time estimates obtained from Google Earth Pro.
  8. Yesterday, I received e-mail from Crystal for the full amount of my claim. However, there is no way I will collect the full amount because I will never book five cruises by the end of 2025. But 1/5 of my credit applied to my Sept. 2024 cruise is better than nothing. New from the start that the program was really geared to the Crystal frequent flyers, unfortunately for us "Little guys", but it makes good business sense. The "Little guy" always gets the short end of the stick.😮
  9. Hi all, God forbid, one never knows when or where a major illness/accident will occur. Here is an option that some may not be known to some: https://medjetassist.com/
  10. Hi , We are on the Scenic Scandinavia cruise in late June. I took a look at trains from Warnemunde to Berlin Central Station. Looks like train travel is approx. 2-3/4 to 3-hrs., one way. Hope this helps in your planning.
