Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. If you want to try it at home here is the link: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2013/07/30/royal-caribbean-classic-honey-stung-chicken
  2. As much as we love Royal ships, we sailed Princess to Alaska and would definitely choose to sail Princess on any future Alaskan cruise.
  3. Lionesss, If you have time and/or the occasion: would you please ask what will happen with entertainment when the Allure moves to 3 and 4 day cruises out of Florida this fall? We are looking at booking a couple of short 3 and/or 4 day cruises when Allure moves back to Florida in the fall of 2023. We really enjoy the current Entertainment on the Allure in the aqua theater, ice shows, Blue Planet and especially Momma Mia. My hope is they will have the same shows, just not as many of each show. Thank you!

Has anyone heard of changes made on the Allure when they start the 3 & 4 day cruises?
  5. In all of our pre-covid sailings, I sent an email request for a table for 2, about 10 days out from sailing, to the rcldining@rccl.com, included our names, sailing date, ship and reservation number. Within a couple days I received a reply confirming our request and most times listed a table number. Most cruises were on Oasis Class ships, but not all. Fast forward to our first cruise post-covid on the Oasis, I sent the same email request to the same email address I had always used and heard nothing back. I sent a second email about a week later, only 6 days out from the cruise, and still no reply. As soon as we boarded, I looked up in the RCL app and found our table number and proceeded to check the actual table in the dining room. It was a table for 4, not 2 as I had requested. Right away, I went and waited in the line to talk to the dining room head waiter. He told me there were no tables for 2 available and he would put us on a waiting list and get back to us within 24 hours. We never heard back from dining at all. I have to admit I never checked back either, but we ended up with nice table mates and made the best of the situation. Maybe we'll have better luck next time.
  6. We were on the Oasis this past December and we used our Starbucks card every day. We earned points/stars on everything we bought at the Starbucks kiosk.(usually a coffee each daily). However, I could not get a coffee with earned points/stars I already had. Really just the opposite of what you said.
  7. Yes! https://thetexastenors.com/events/the-texas-tenors-charter-cruise/ On their website it lists their concerts included in a charter cruise. Sometimes entertainment for the charter cruise is only included for those going/paying for the charter cruise. Other times they perform for all passengers. It just depends on their contract with RCL
  8. Oasis had no Christmas decorations when we boarded on Sunday, Nov 27th. 2 days later the poinsettias appeared. Then on Wednesday they started putting up the tree in the Promenade deck along with a few other decorations. Thursday they started putting up the large lighted balls that hang from the Promenade ceiling. Overnight Saturday night, the gingerbread village was set up next to the Starbucks kiosk. By the time we were leaving the ship on Sunday morning, Dec 4th. the ship was decorated.
  9. We are using SAS Transport Service. $15/person https://www.ridesas.com/html/returningcustomers.php
  10. I'm guessing what you have saved in 26 cruises of NOT paying insurance would cover the cost of this cruise fare. Call Royal to officially cancel so you receive the refund of taxes, port fees, dining, wifi and excursions, then consider the loss of this actual cruise fare what you paid to be self-insured for all your previous cruises.
  11. Come join our roll call for the Nov 27th Oasis sailing, its a small (but mighty) roll call so far😎
  12. We would prefer the bed by the closet because we can sit on the sofa, which is closer to the balcony, and have a nice view of the ocean. It certainly is a personal preference.
  13. Looking at the deck plans, it looks like 3598 is below the walkway around the skating rink. The Comedy Club and Jazz on 4 looks to be a bit further forward.
