Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I am debating annual vs single trip policy for a trip October 2024. The very popular and highly recommended ALLIANZ won't allow a policy start date past a couple of months from now. I want to start the policy closer to my travel date. My main concern is getting the pre-existing medical condition waiver coverage. If I have to go with a single trip policy, then I have to buy within the next 3 days to be within the 10-15 day from deposit period allowance. Looking for suggestions/ideas on which way to go.
  2. We'll be on a cruise in January 2024 and one of the ports is St. Thomas. What is the consensus about diving here? Thanks for any input.
  3. Wow! That's a good one!!! I already posted my question (slightly revised) under a new topic. Wonder if I can change that heading. 🤔
  4. OK. Good point. If you look at the chart that's posted by the Travel Insurance Store here on Cruise Critic though, it does make that same statement for both the Trekker Essential and Trekker Choice (I think that's what it's called). I suppose it's fairly generic but, absolutely. Each person should double check for their own needs. I was just trying to point out that there was that "fine print" just in case it applied.
  5. I will be doing a transatlantic cruise out of Barcelona at the end of October. I missed the boat (not the ship :)) and did not buy travel insurance within the 10 -21 days after deposit as required by most companies to get the pre-existing conditions waiver. Yesterday I bought the Geo-blue annual Trekker plan to cover medical but won't have the other benefits for another mostly paid in full trip. Is it OK to have this Geo-blue plan AND buy another policy within the 10-21 timeframe when I make another reservation so I will be covered for cancellations and delays, etc. that Geo-blue does not cover? IF I do buy another policy within the appropriate time frame, THAT would also cover pre-existing medical. Is it a problem if I have two policies that cover medical then? If they are both "secondary" policies, could you file one and then the other if there are unpaid balances? Or, would I just buy a single trip policy whenever, that would not include coverage for pre-existing medical conditions waiver? Thank you. I am already "stuck" for two trips but have two more planned (in my head). 🙂.
  6. Lol....thanks. Not sure what to call the thread.
  7. I just bought GeoBlue yesterday. If you are between 70-95, the medical limit is $100K.
