Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. On port days yes, it does seem as if the MDR has a limited Express Breakfast menu: For Sea Days, it's more extensive:
  2. There have been a few Sun Princess recent ship tour videos (e.g. EatSleepCruise) which have stated The Sanctuary on Sun Princess is reserved for guests 16 or older.
  3. Giggled when I read on another site a comment from a suite passenger currently on Sun Princess that the crew call the scenic elevators "The Willy Wonka Elevators". I admit they do shake you around a bit but didn't quite have the same result as the movie! (I went for the original!)
  4. When we were on over Easter, there were different hours for sea and port days as follows: Horizons Dining Room Deck 6 Breakfast 7am to 9am Lunch 11:30am to 1pm - Sea Days Only Dinner 5pm (1st Seating) 7:30pm (2nd Seating) Horizons Dining Room Deck 7 Dinner: 5pm to 9pm Americana Diner Deck 8 10:30am to 2:30pm - Sea Days, 12:30pm to 2:30pm - Port Days 6pm to 10pm Reserve Collection Restaurant 7am to 9:30am 11:30am to 1pm - Sea Days Only 5pm to 9pm Signature Restaurant 7am to 9:30am 11:30am to 1pm - Sea Days Only 5pm to 9pm
  5. Fair enough. We only went once to try out their new cocktails and it said it was a Captain's Circle event so was unsure about suite guests. And the timing for us at the start of April was 3:30pm to 5pm - barely a pre-dinner event!
  6. With Crooners in mind, do you know if you also get an invite to the Elite Lounge as a suite guest? You may be Elite or Platinum anyway of course!
  7. Was it an annoyance that the Signature Restaurant wasn't part of the suite area? It does seem strange that you have to walk half of the ship to get to it, and the Reserve Cabana passengers have to walk half the ship in the other direction to get to their restaurant. I think you have answered my question on your recommended method of getting there - down to 7 to the Wheelhouse and then past the shops towards the Piazza, with the other decks being quite awkward. Also, did the mysterious missing carving trolley ever turn up?
  8. Thank you! Comparing this with our door hanger from Discovery Princess from October 2022 - the Dairy Alternatives have been added and more From the Griddle like Pancakes and French Toast. Delivery timeslots end at 9am here whereas ours went up to 10:30am. Not sure if that's a Sun Princess difference or fleetwide however.
  9. Understandable - we tend to stick to two meals a day and sometimes miss the breakfast slot completely. Did suites have the breakfast door hanger card option? We tended to use this more on other Princess ships as there were additional hot items.
  10. Not to worry - lets throw in some menus from another site (credit Lynn GS) of the port-day Suite Breakfast menus - to show what you missed 🤣
  11. Thank you for taking the time to provide all these details! The upgraded service sounds fabulous. We look forward to experiencing it later this year - just booked a suite for September! What other information did your personalised welcome letter include? When we popped by for a sneak peek earlier this month we noticed access to the Lounge seemed to be controlled via medallion? There was also one wait staff person on duty - not a concierge - and no passengers (it was midday on a port day). Agree that the food did look a bit limited - not much variety on the savoury side (which I prefer!):
  12. Posting this on the Star Princess build thread following the updates from those passengers who have been notified of changes directly. While nine inaugural sailings have now been cancelled and the new inaugural is now October 4 2025, this states the ship delivery date will be September 26, 2025 (a slot for a shakedown cruise maybe?). The official press release: MONFALCONE, Italy, (April 19, 2024) – Princess Cruises and ship builder Fincantieri today announced the mutual decision to postpone the delivery of the next Sphere Class ship, Star Princess. Following a comprehensive review of the remaining construction milestones, both parties have elected to adjust the ship's delivery date from July 29, 2025 to September 26, 2025, which will result in the cancellation of the nine inaugural sailings. “Despite our collective dedication and relentless pursuit to deliver the ship in late July, it has become evident that additional time is required to ensure the Star Princess is delivered to the highest standards expected by our guests,” said John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises. The new inaugural sailings of Star Princess will sail roundtrip from Barcelona and include an 11-day Mediterranean voyage on October 4, 2025, and a 7-day Mediterranean voyage on October 15, 2025, that precede a 14-day transatlantic crossing to Fort Lauderdale on October 22, 2025 for the ship’s first Caribbean season. These three new cruises will open for sale on April 30, 2024. Guests who are booked on any of the impacted voyages will be given three options: book any Princess cruise worldwide, including aboard the new Star, sister ship Sun Princess, or any other Princess ship. Guests who elect to rebook will receive future cruise- and onboard-credits depending on the cruise they select. Guests will also have the option to cancel and receive a full refund of the cruise fare. Princess will protect travel agent commissions on all bookings that have been paid in full. Star Princess is the second in the new Sphere Class of ships for Princess. Sister ship Sun Princess, built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, debuted in February and is hailed as the next level Love Boat featuring the iconic and elegant structural lines Princess is known for, while delivering an evolution of the brand with new eye-catching architectural spectacles like The Dome, the cruise industry’s first geodesic feature on the top deck, and The Sphere, the suspended glass Sphere Piazza at the center of the cruise ship.
  13. Yes, $140 for a half day/$220 for a full day (except Sun Princess).
  14. This is a direct link to Steve's (CanadianBurger's) final thoughts on his cruise on Sun Princess but you can go back to the start of the thread if you wish.
