Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Million Dollar Quartet was shown the last three evenings.
  2. The concierge on the sailing I just disembarked from was nice enough, but (in my opinion) the asst. concierge was far from it and in fact I'll go as far as saying flat out rude and unprofessional. He was condescending when addressing my concerns and flippant in his responses to my questions. Further, he gave me wrong information then to back peddle rather than just own up it and correct the problem (which from a customer service view point was a super easy fix). Right. Quick question @cruiseny4life about the floral arrangement in your cabin on getaway that I saw in your photo. That was just the standard thing and not purchased beforehand; right? (I ask because I had said to the asst. concierge that I would much prefer real flowers to the succulents (that quite frankly look sad) that were going to be put in my cabin and he said that your flowers would have been prepurchased. I couldn't argue the point because I didnt know and really that was just the first day and the start of his attitude problem with me. I kept trying to be kind, but then the last day he really ticked me off and I wasnt so nice anymore (his error and he was trying to turn it around with the head concierge there)
  3. I'll try to remember to do this next time I'm on 6 (unless someone already has)
  4. I think the overhang you referred to is the one over deck 8 (whatever that outside walk is called ? waterfront maybe?) I keep thinking my phone is going to slip my grip and fall on top of it and then unceremoniously bounce it's way into the ocean as I tend to support it there when taking sunrise/set or really any scenic photos back here. That overhang above this balcony is deck 10s balcony Regardless of those details, yes, it's huge and fabulous. We have had two lunches out here and may consider doing that later today if Francis isn't already bombarded with requests. As I noted that my son is (late)sleeping in the living room (not to mention my husband is sleeping later than me as well), but also because I don't wake on an internal clock so it fluctuates, we have not ordered coffee or breakfast to the cabin and likely won't the remaining either. And considering that it may be too cold or motiony (is that a word?) The next couple days I think today I plan to get my fill out here. My husband and son (who reluctantly got up about 20 minutes ago to join my husband already there...fyi that was 11:30 as we're still on Atlantic time) are getting in some Haven hot tub and pool time right now.
  5. Yup, mine is port side. It's a fantastic balcony. Because I have a third person who sleeps late in the living room I do wish the configuration was one that had the master bed at the balcony with the additional entrance rather than the bathroom with shower and tub windows. I'm sure I would have utilized the balcony in the morning more often if it was that way. I disrupt my son to come out, but in and out and in and out is a bit rude in my opinion (even if it is my offspring who has me to thank for his life 😉)
  6. While @Laszloenjoys a lazy morning in the Haven, I have been enjoying an equally lazy one on that there disarranged looking lounger.
  7. As much as I think @cruiseny4lifeis the bee's knees, I do not agree in whole with his assessment of the buffet. I generally like a sit down meal for all my mains, but will go to the buffet for a hold me over or lunch on occasion. I'm pretty picky in what I select though as I've learned what tends to just "look good" vs. taste that way over many sailings. Of course I still make mistakes (I'm talking to you supposed "miso" soup station) but generally I think the buffet is fine if you keep it simple.
  8. And unfortunately this new accessory is adorning the railings.
  9. Adding to @Laszlos few And we can't forget this beauty right here:
  10. Mine is likely to be an unpopular opinion: Now, while I think the show was very good, I personally liked the prior two shows better. It wasn't just that I didn't know some of the songs, it's that the energy in the room was different. Perhaps that was expected by those that knew the album, but it wasn't by me. That isn't a complaint. Just a fact. Energy was different -- not bad energy. I just prefer the other shows energy is all. It was worthwhile to see and the band is very talented for sure. But it's a one and done for me. If I am on this or another ship with a Syds I would likely skip the Rumours. YMMV @Laszlowhere were you? I thought you guys went to the other side of the room. Your pic looks like a zoom in of my pic. Were you sitting on my lap...lol? What was your take away from the show (as I think your had not seen the others to have any expectations going in)
  11. I had been reading a lot that no to go, but saw another table at LaCucina last night have their unfinished pizza brought back out to go, so when my son didn't finish it and wanted it to go we figured we'd ask. No push back at all. They put it in a smaller plate and put one of those plastic lids on it. He even went back and got a fork and knife and wrapped them in a cloth napkin for us. Maybe only cannolis are a danger to the other passengers. Those suckers are real slippery....lol. Not surprising to me that there is an inconsistency in what can and can't be done from one day to the next/one waiter to the next. Sorry you had to smuggle your item out like a thief in the night.
