Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Today, I called the Captain's Club to discuss a problem with my Points from my New Year's Cruise. What a good experience I had. I spoke with Ricardo in Mexico City. He was professional, understood what my problem was, and fixed it efficiently. What a change from most call centers you get routed too today. Kudos to Celebrity.
  2. Everything you want to know about who is docked where and when at Port Everglades. https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/
  3. I was on this ship over New Year's and the seating at the Bars to watch the games is at a premium. Get there early to get a decent seat. This ship in now using Starlink so the reception is very good. I only saw one large screen TV and that was in the Bar on Deck 4 Starboard.
  4. On Silhouette over New Year's, there was a Carving Station on OV for Lunch.
  5. This is a real nice Christmas Present to all of our D+ Members. It is obvious the no one at C&A has any Management skills. I was always taught you never pas out bad news right before a holiday. And for D+ Members, this is bad news.
  6. I was on Labadee at the end of July and have mobility issues. The staff were most helpful and glad to assist in any way they could. We were a Family Group of 10 and did get a Cabana. It was near food and restrooms and had a very attentive staff. It was very quiet, a nice tip goes a long way.
  7. And when they order a drink, usually the bartender will just give them the drink, nothing to sign. If they ask them to sing a ticket, tell to check to be sure the charge is ZERO. If they want to tip the bartender, they can do that in cask, however, the purchase price of the package does include the tip so it is not necessary with each drink order. Like most places, if you tip the individual, they do see you when there is a crowd at the bar. 😉
  8. We were on Explorer the last week of July and wanted a Cabana on Labadee, which was listed as Sold Out on the Cruise Planner. We went to the Shore Excursion Desk as soon as we boarded and they had several available.
  9. There are 6 Terminals that they could use so it could be somewhat different depending on which Terminal they are assigned. In General, parking is a short walk from the parking area. You will be directed to drop your luggage at the front of the terminal. And then park. FYI, park on a low a floor as you can find. I once parked on the top floor and had to wait over an hour to get to the Ticket Booth as all the cars on the lower floors were in front of me.
  10. There is plenty of parking at the Port of Miami. It is expensive (about $ 25 a day), but it is available.
  11. Do they walk you off individually or do they form up a group and take the group at one time?
  12. In Miami, once you are in the terminal, they form two lines, one with people who have a single piece of luggage, you will use the Escalator, and one for people with more than one piece of luggage, you will use the Elevator. Needless to say, the Escalator is much faster. Backpacks don't count, just suitcases or other items that you cannot carry. Last month at Terminal G, they were using Facial Recogntion, you look at the device, if it turns Green, off you Go. Not sure what happens if it turns Red.+
  13. My cruise last month, the DBP was $78 per day. Your Diamond gets you 4 per day. If the Drinks are $13 each, then 78 divided by 13 is 6. Thus, you need to have more than (4+6) 10 Drinks per day to make the DBP less expensive.
