Does anyone know how the $25 deposit is supposed to work? My assumption would be that we each pay $25, but when I logged in to look at making a booking - one flagged boldy with the $25 deposit banner - my booking showed a deposit of $1400. Just a little confused and no information on the Holland site that I could find.

I see a lot of people are buying gift cards in the $1000's to pay for future cruises and onboard spending etc... Currently HAL is offering 10% bonus on gift card purchases. Is the only reason to buy gift cards the 10% savings when there is a sale? Or is there another reason I'm missing? Not that 10% discount isn't a great incentive on it's own. I have learned a ton of tips on this board (shareholder benefits, status matching...) so just making sure I wasn't missing any other benefits to gift card purchases. Thanks!

Is it cheaper to pay for specialty restaurants before you sail or is it the same price once you're onboard?

Headed out on the Seashore this weekend and not sure whether to buy the dining package for the specialty restaurants now or when we get onboard? Currently it shows as $155 for the four restaurant package if we book now. It also says packages are available for the first day or two of cruising, but I wasn't sure if they'd be at a higher price.
