Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. And I will be in that room in September so I will be interested to hear how your experience is. And thank you sns1 for your report. We’ve sailed CB about a half dozen times, including at least once in E731. It’s a great cabin, provided those issues aren’t present.
  2. We are also onboard, also on deck 9, and it is our first RSSC cruise. So far we are quite impressed! Lots to like about the experience so far.
  3. The real question is, if this was a “family style” side, how many stalks would they serve in an individual side order? 1 or 2? We ended up flipping a coin to see who got the third stalk!😀
  4. . . . And sometimes the portions are not so big.
  5. I have brought an empty beer bottle back on a couple of occasions, without any difficulty. Of course, 1. It was a number of years ago, and 2. as with most things Princess, whether you will have the same results is anyone‘s guess.
  6. I’m on this same sailing and will share my experience as my cabin was also arbitrarily changed, although under different circumstances. i prefer larger balconies than the standard balconies on the Royal class, so I booked one of the 10 “deluxe obstructed” balconies at the front of Emerald. They have larger balconies , and since they taper down in size toward the bow, I chose the furthest one back on the starboard side, my preferred side. I think all 10 were available at time of choosing. My reservation was marked no upgrade, though my change was not an upgrade. At some point, don’t remember if it was before or after final payment, I noticed my cabin had been moved from starboard to port side, and one cabin closer to the bow, thus a little smaller balcony. Still, larger than standard, but I lost a few square feet of balcony real estate. Curiously, they didn’t move me to the corresponding port balcony which was still available to book. No notice from Princess of the move, and if the (big box) TA was notified, they didn’t pass it along. Now I could have raised a stink right then, but I had put in a bid for an upgrade to a non-obstructed premium deluxe balcony, which were still plentiful, so I figured, if I get one of those, (and I put in an above minimum bid), it would be a moot point anyway. Long story shorter, I did not win my upgrade bid, and ended up in a smaller balcony cabin for some unknown reason. it wasn’t a big enough deal to get worked up over, but would have certainly liked to know why I was arbitrarily moved. i may never get an explanation, but it was very puzzling and certainly annoying.
  7. We are currently on the Sky. Here are the pages from tonight’s dining room wine menu. Though the plus selections only list generics, cross matching the bin numbers to the more complete menu on the in-room tv menus, they are pouring: bin 12 Prosecco- Val D’OCa bin 102 Pinot Grigio- Canyon Road bin 122 Riesling- Crane Lake bin 135 Grüner Veltliner- Laurenz V. Singing bin 167 Sauvignon Blanc- Santa Helena bin 242 Chardonnay- Canyon Road bin 327 Rose- Gran Arauracaria bin 547 Pinot Noir- Castle Rock bin 657 Shiraz- Tisdale bin 687 Merlot- Morpho Helena bin 742 Cabernet Sauvignon- Canyon Road bin 817 Malbec- Morpho Helena bin 872 Red Blend- Aqui bin 675 Carmenere- Errazuriz Hope this helps.
  8. I have had a similar experience as yours. I bid on an upgrade from an obstructed balcony to a premium deluxe balcony when upgrade bidding for my sailing was first opened. I watched it stay in pending status for about two months, then, yesterday, with 10 days until sailing, the bid disappeared, with no other acknowledgement from Princess. Presumably my bid was declined, although there are cabins in this category still available and one can still book this category as a new booking. I also bid above the minimum, but only bid on this one category of upgrade.
  9. Indeed they are. I just did a mock specialty dining reservation for my May 2023 cruise and it shows $35 for Sabatini’s and $39 for Crown Grill.
  10. I encountered this problem after the new release, and I was puzzled because my wife's account addressed her by name. Here's what fixed it for me: I discovered that in her personal information, she had a name in the "preferred name" field, and for me the field was blank. As soon as I entered a preferred name, it corrected and now addresses me by name. If you don't have the preferred name field populated, you could try that.
