Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I purchased as well and read it as three bags at different times.
  2. I agree, the internet speed on Onward is the best I have used on any cruise line I have sailed on. We were in a Caribbean sailing in Jan and could easily do FaceTime calls on wifi.
  3. We were first to walk off. Luckily there were not many lined up. Only about 10 people when they let us off at 0715. Caught cab that was waiting to rental car a short distance away , not at airport. Another guy from different cruise showed up about 15 mins after us at rental agency. He mentioned that when he returned the rental the morning his cruise started there were many people trying to do the same there was a long return line. We were lucky and did not have this when we returned ours the afternoon before. We were also lucky to have been able to pick up our vehicle first thing in the morning. The other guy and a second person that arrived were not able to get their vehicles as their vehicle class had not been turned in yet. Just info for those renting not at airport, I picked this closer place as it was closer to port, but still major car rental company.
  4. Obviously this was accidental, each person apologized profusely after it happened. It is just a not a good location for the doors and how they function independent of each other.
  5. Another quick note about 8801 in particular. The crew door is right beside the cabin door for 8801. The crew door opens with a push towards the cabin door. I was struck twice by a crew member opening the door. A friend of mine was struck and almost knocked down by the captain when he opened the door. Made a suggestion that they reverse the door so that the crew would have to pull it open to exit the area so no one gets hurt on the other side. Will see what they do. I could see someone getting hurt fairly badly especially an older senior if they get hit hard by the door.
  6. 8801 is not a Club Continent Suite. It is a balcony plus. No tub just a tiny shower. You must have been two cabins further aft. The cabin is right beside the door to the officers area/bridge on the starboard side. So if you were further back, it would make sense that the noise was less. I had been looking for info on these cabins when I booked and there was none, so I wanted to ensure that others had the info. Again, if you are a deep sleeper or wear earplugs it may not bother you.
  7. We are disembarking in Miami, from what I read the earliest to walk off with luggage is 0730? I am guessing there are a bunch of taxi’s waiting once you leave the terminal, or do you need to call one? Thanks, Wondermouse
  8. After staying in 8801 for two consecutive cruises I would dissuade people from booking if they want to sleep past 6:30 am. The gym above is not supposed to be open at that time and as a matter of fact the doors to the gym area do not get opened until past 730. Passengers still open the closed doors and go in and use the facilities. Opening time when we have asked has been from 7:00 am to 8:00 am depending on who you ask, but definitely not 6:30 am. Guest services do not want to do anything with it. So we have been up each morning to the thumping of the treadmill. My advice to those booking is to be heavy sleepers, or wear earplugs.
  9. Ship - Onward Cabin Number - 8801 Month/Year sailed - Jan 2022 B2B Would you choose this room again? - Absolutely No, NoWay, Can’t say no enough Is noise an issue - Very loud from Gym above. Woken up every morning from running on the tread mill. Was usually at 7:00 a.m., but is now 6:30 a.m. Gym not even officially open, but they let people go in whenever they want. They just open the shut doors. Balcony Size - Balcony Plus
  10. Thanks for sharing that info
  11. Can you explain what a crew fund is and used for?
  12. I know that gratuities are included on Azamara, but we usually give more to certain people on the ship. Do most of you tip at the end of each cruise segment if your room Stewart and waiters etc are around for the other segments, or do you wait until the very end and provide a larger tip ( for those that do)? Thanks Wondermouse
  13. I stick with my first statement that the wifi is the best we have had. It is quick and we have been able to have several FaceTime conversations without losing connectivity. Pages load quickly. We just use our iPads and iPhones. Not computers on the ship
