Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We don't know why it made us laugh so much, but it did... 25% off wines at Morrisons, time to stock up Part of the order was; 4 bottles of Gary Barlows Organic White substitution 4 bottles of Graham Nortons Sauvignon Blanc It must have been like word association ie showbiz🤣
  2. I don't know why this suddenly came into my head but just wondered if Molechip has been reading this great thread, and also his thoughts on it.
  3. Are you up early or going to bed late Eglesbrech? It's the latter for me. Goodnight. Not sure it's worth it now though, not tired yet.
  4. Selbourne, did you realise your postings had such a following, with so many hanging on your every word????😀 . Just wondered...
  5. We will all miss your daily stories Selbourne. We are all 'elite😃 but there was a super elite gang of three on here. One was you and your daily blog, but we still have two 1. Kalos every morning🤣 and 2. The dashboard with Costa coffee and banana cake!!! Thanks again
  6. I am ashamed to say....went to a pub for lunch (to suss it out for a family 'do') and ordered ham ploughmans. Well, it was gigantic, and enough for three, the ham was quarter of an inch thick. I have a good appetite but no way So I pinched OH's serviette and shoved half the ham in my handbag for my tea! mmm😃 No the type of behaviour for a lady cruiser😊
  7. Selbourne, I'm with Brian1 with his comments on Cunard Club. They make you feel very special in the restaurant. I used my little scooter in the evenings and every time I entered Paolo was there ready to help, and was standing behind my chair. We never did find out how he knew we were arriving as he couldn't see the corridor. Club is great. Its similar to once having a balcony always wanting one, once Club always wanting Club. I hope they make Lady Selbourne feel as good and as special as they made me.
  8. All my family are Maidstone United fans but two work there full time, and one part time. They are all off to Coventry today en masse. If the outcome is not a good one I will be keeping my head down for a while🤣
  9. . On Wednesday I had an appointment at the Hospital where my daughter works. OH and myself always accompany each other on appointments, It somehow makes sure we remember everything between us! My daughter asked if she could accompany us. Well, talk about role reversal. When she started asking the Consultant questions I felt like a two year old. I shouldn't have felt a bit cross and put out but I did😀
  10. We don't know how we kept it together. I wanted to walk out but that would have meant starting all over again. Pick up patches later and will really hope the Pharmacist can give me advice. All I wanted was no drama, just a chat with an expert and to be free of agony which hits some of the time.Pain I can handle, agony is harder to take. Anyway OH is taking me to meet some friends for lunch and have a large glass of wine as with new meds alcohol is banned for a while. Sincerely hope your mum gets on ok Michelle. Best wishes x
  11. Just an update on my quest for getting off one drug and on to pain patches. Well after my daughter's intervention (she is a Hospital Recruitment Manager so knows procedure), I was telephoned and offered an appointment with a Practitioner. My daughter was going to drive down but luckily I managed to put her off, and glad I did, she would have gone ape! We walked in and a lady was at her computer and asked us to bear with her, finishing last patient's notes. It was obvious from her manner that she had absolutely no idea why we were there. She said "you have a backache" NO that was not why we were there, I have had the scans the mri's, the injections, we were there to discuss whether patches were suitable with my history. I took out the latest Consultant letter which requested patches and she turned to her computer for over 5 minutes. She then said she had been sending details to a colleague and they would discuss it. Why couldn't I see a colleague before. I don't know who she was, I have never seen her before or heard of her. The final straw was when I said that I have a few questions about the patches and their suitability, and who should I ask and she politely told me there was no time my time was up. She had wasted it. She was polite, but seemed out of her depth somehow and was more or less sideways on to us, with an accent, so we missed a lot of it. We left bemused. It was atrocious. Years ago I was Practice Manager.Secretary to a small surgery and nothing like it would have happened there. Anyway she phoned later and said prescription was at Chemist so I hope the Pharmacist will help me.
  12. Hope things soon improve for you Megabear. Long story, short version, nightmares here too regarding morphine patches. Need to speak to surgery due to me asking questions re heart, monitoring etc .. two days couldn't get through, It's important I speak to them as have to wean off other controlled drug. On and on it goes,. The receptionists take no messages, just say our lists are full today please go to walk in surgery. It's not appropriate unless they dish out opiates like sweets. Daughter and MP plus another Hospital now involved. I can do without any more stress so will just sit back and let eloquent daughter deal!!! where's the chocolate🤣
  13. Oooh the memories Josy!!🤣 I had two of the little devils. One wasn't too bad but the other never got anything ready then a cry of "Mum, you'll have to take me" All the while I was trying to get ready to drive myself to work in London. I remember all the moaning and rushing around... the memories of all that chaos are still there.
  14. Its surprising how many people are up in the middle of the night. We usually feel we are the only one, or one of very few. I think a cup of tea and a couple of Ryvita are a good idea, although I would really like a sausage sandwich!😏😀
  15. I've slept for an hour and a half. Got up and tipped a whole glass of water over the floor Unfortunately I can't mop it up properly. I did my best and have now covered the area with a bath sheet and OH will deal in the morning. grrrr. I have someone coming at 10 am so wanted to be up and ready reasonably early, but not this early Oh well.
