Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I miss the midnight buffet. It was so beautiful and creative but not a lot of stuff was eaten so I understand why they got rid of it.
  2. You're right I did and I loved it. It just seems to me that if someone late books like we did, we are helping them out by helping fill up the ship but then we need better options for dining. I am sure my wife will love cruising but I don't want to put her off. She was shocked at how much I paid for the unlimited drink package with internet and an ocean-view room with an extended balcony. I mean this trip is costing more than the average vacation and I'm not counting parking at the port of Miami and a hotel the night before etc..
  3. Agreed, it is subjective. Cilantro does taste like soap to me but I like it. I guess I cursed a lot when I was a kid. If anyone can't find anything they like and they are happy with, it truly is on them. take something as simple as a waffle. I love a good waffle but it has to be light and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The waffles I've seen on the ship are closer to Eggo waffles which, aren't bad if they are a little more well done. They don't do them that way so I don't eat waffles on the ship. They do make a helluva omelet though!
  4. Yeah and I would too but when I booked the cruise over the phone with RCL, they said my best option was my time because the earliest was too late.
  5. Well I want her to experience both so then it's easier for me to make the argument that it's worth the $654 upcharge.
  6. I would like for her to at least experience it 2 or 3 times during our cruise so she can formulate her own opinion. In all my cruises, I always just go to specialty restaurants because I just think it's a lot quieter and quaint.
  7. IMO, food is food, some good and some bad. I guess this is a touchy subject because everyone has a different opinion as to what "Awesome" food is. It's going to be based on where you regularly eat. If your idea of going out to eat is Applebee's or Chili's, you're going to be pleasantly surprised at how fantastic the food is. If your idea of going out the eat is Capital Grille, then your expectations may be higher. I for one give RCL an equal grade for being a "chain" like upper dining experience. The bottom line is, if it's not good for you, don't eat it and ask for something else, they are more than happy to oblige. For the record: I do consider myself a foodie and I prefer mom-and-pop shops to high-end elegance. There is a time and a place for that. I just went to Ruth Chris' and there were 4 of us and yes we all had steak and drink. The bill I paid was $387 plus the tip and it was ok. I can say without a doubt that I've had a better steak at Chops.
  8. Hello Everyone, It's been a while since I went on a cruise, 6 years. Since then, you can pre-book dinner and such on the app. We booked our cruise (my wife's first) on the Oasis OTS just 5 weeks before she sails and our earliest dinner option with My Time Dining is 9:00 PM? We don't eat dinner that late at all. I'm so used to getting on the ship and taking care of that right away. The unlimited dining package would offer some relief (probably), however, that would be an additional $654. I know we can do the Windjammer and pay for specialty restaurants but I really think she would be missing out if she didn't experience Main Dining at least once. Has anyone else run into this issue booking late in the game and what was the outcome? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
