Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Fortunate that a potentially life threatening condition can be moderated by a med evac. I believe that the other passengers would not begrudge them for it.
  2. I think you mean fortunately a haven for med evacs.
  3. Hope the affected passenger is recovering. Port Canaveral is a haven for dolphins and pelicans. Love sailing from there.
  4. Difficult to quantify, but for us they are not. We do regular facials/massages at Hand & Stone nearby. Their cost is significantly less that the on board prices and there's no attempt to sell product.
  5. We've always found Coastal Kitchen dress code to be the same as MDR
  6. What you heard was incorrect. We did a Sydney to Hawaii 18-night cruise (12 sea days) and the entertainment was the same standard/frequency as the more traditional 7-night round trip sailings.
  7. It's been several years now since we've done the wine tasting on board. In general wine tastings are fun events during which you may find that you like certain wines better than others. You'll probably sample 4 or 5 wines. They will be very small pours, an oz or two. Just enough for you to sip. You'll also learn how wines can compliment specific foods. Typically you sip some wine, take a bite of something (usually cheese) and sip again. The "bites" are also very small portions.
  8. "Worth" is a difficult concept to grasp in this question. What are you hoping to get and how much is it going to cost you? For me, Yes, I'd still do the cruise. The Hawaiian islands are beautiful. Add on some time at the end of the cruise to spend at least 5 days on Oahu.
  9. You don't need any extra info - your driver will just follow the signs to your ship.
  10. Nobody has any better information than what you are finding on the internet. Check the weather channel for a general idea of what you might experience. But overall, they are no more accurate than the weather forecasters in your own town.
  11. We have been on both. Love both. Like Shmoo above I'd go with the longer cruise.
  12. The difference in size between those two cabins is not really a deal breaker IMHO. Especially as the children are so small. IIRC, you get a slightly longer, perhaps 4', cabin in the 4A category.
  13. Got to agree that Disney concierge isn't quite up to the standards of say a Celebrity Retreat cabin. However there is a real difference in the concierge product in the Disney fleet. The Magic/Wonder have minimal concierge lounges. The Dream/Fantasy have much better lounges. The Wish class has really hit it out of the parks (no pun intended) for the concierge lounge features.
  14. To me the big difference is that in CK they are cooking for a couple of hundred people. In the MDR they are cooking for thousands. You get food that is better prepared in CK.
